Advantages: Price, good initial results.

Disadvantages: Too heavy to use long term

I bought this shampoo hoping that it might be an affordable alternative to my much loved Kerastase. Unfortunately the credit crunch has bitten hard and the blank look on my husbands face when I suggested spending £35 on shampoo and conditioner told me it was time to move on. I wont lie this pained me somewhat - after all, it would be no loss to him, he's bald - if he had long, highlighted hair prone to frizz and split ends I'm sure it would have been considered a more important household purchase. So anyway, off I marched to Superdrug, with hope in my heart and about £5 in my purse. Ive always avoided Pantene - I dont like the claim in the adverts that you end up with healthy 'looking' hair. It just screams that you're getting coated in some shiny substance and not actually nourishing or repairing your tresses. This however is more expensive than the standard Pantene range and was also on a 2 for 1.

The Packaging: The bottle is completely different in design from the normal Pantene range, and as such I felt I had the 'premium' version, so did feel quite special.
The Shampoo: Thick, pleasant smell, feels luxurious & just a small amount creates a thick lather and my hair felt really clean afterwards.
The Results: At first I was really impressed with this shampoo - my hair felt soft & clean, even the day after I washed it. I had no frizz, my highlights really seemed to brighten up and my colleague at work mentioned my hair looked really healthy.
Long Term: By the end of the bottle I'm afraid to say my hair looked dull, felt weighted down and lacked any vitality. I actually ended up having to fork out more money on a clarifying shampoo to 'strip' whatever was coating it.
I dont think that it did anything in the way of nourishing my hair but I might use it for a week before I had an event to go to as the initial results arent bad for the price. As an everyday shampoo however, this is firmly scratched off my list.

Summary: I will use this again from time to time, but not as an everyday shampoo.
