Advantages: Smells lovely, Clean hair & scalp, Lasts a long time

Disadvantages: Expensive

If you've read the title you're probably thinking I've lost the plot but what is special about this Tea Tree shampoo is that it contains a bit of everything. Peppermint, Hawaiian awapuhi, camomile, henna, jojoba, rosemary, aloe vera, and Australian tea tree oil.

Whilst my boyfriend prefers to describe it as menthol because of it's peppermint contents, it's a decent mix of mint and tea tree oil. It looks somewhat like melted down blue Softmints and doesn't smell dissimilar. If you're not a fan of mint (what's wrong with you?) then don't worry because it isn't too overpowering and people won't notice that you smell of peppermint.

PACKAGING

As usual, Paul Mitchell shampoo comes in a slim white plastic bottle with black writing on it. It's pretty discreet and tasteful which is always a bonus.

APPEARANCE

As I previously mentioned it looks somewhat like melted down Softmints or Mentos - pale blue and reasonably thick in consistency for a shampoo. Blue is my favourite colour so the pretty appearance is another plus point as far as I'm concerned.

SMELL

Mmm, minty with a hint of tea tree. I found the plain tea tree shampoo by Paul Mitchell to be a bit stinky and overpowering because tea tree tends to smell a bit antisceptic. The thought of wandering around smelling of tea tree is never a nice prospect, regardless at how effective it is at cleaning your hair and scalp. The mint isn't too sickly or girly because it is natural peppermint and I personally think it smells gorgeous.

PERFORMANCE

Now to the all-important performance - you know how vital that is, girls. All the special ingredients in this product combine to make a shampoo that makes your scalp tingle (invigorated by mint), your hair soft and shiny, well cared for by the premium natural ingredients.

The one complaint I have about this shampoo is that it leaves your hair
a little too squeaky clean, stripping some of the hair's natural oils. This means that I prefer to use a conditioner after this shampoo, but that isn't much of a downfall.

THE PRICE

Aha! Here's the catch. A shampoo that is natural, performs well and smells delicious doesn't come cheap and at £7.95 I'm glad I didn't pay. My boyfriend got this shampoo from our hairdressers but you can also buy it from Looktastic (http://www.lookfantastic.com/) priced £7.65.

To be honest, I wouldn't fork out nearly £8 for any shampoo but you only need a small amount each time, with only one lather required. If you treat yourself to this shampoo for occasional use it will last a long time and prove to be a good investment.

I do recommend this shampoo but only if you're not on a tight budget.

Funnily enough, I don't like the taste of mint, but I love the scent!
