The Razor’s Edge on Oxford Rd is my local hairdressers, but until last week I had never been. There were a few things that put me off, but the main one was their sign – the font they’ve used is a blurry slurry one and I just couldn’t figure out what they were called, which used to annoy me. Quy can obviously read better than I can though, because as we were driving past one day I mentioned that I was thinking of going in there and he replied with “Where? Razor’s Edge?”. So finally I had a name, and the get together that took place last Friday gave me a reason to have my hair cut, so I made an appointment. I arrived ten ... Read the complete review

I arrived at razors edge at dead on 10, the time I had booked my appointment to begin. I hoped, having a reasonably early appointment would mean the hairdresser couldn't be running too far behind and I shouldn't have to wait too long. I was wrong. When I arrived the extremely grumpy receptionst took my name and told me to sit down. I sat down in the tiny waiting area and flicked through a few magazines from the surprisingly large and recent selection. By 10:15 I was gettin impatient, I'd arranged to meet a friend at 11:15. At 10:30 the receptionist finally came over and told me the hairdresser wouldn't be much longer. By 10:40 the hairdresser ... Read the complete review

I work for one of the universities and walk past Razors Edge almost every morning, however it was a female colleague at work who recommended the place and as my normal hair cut is by a barber I was a little dubious about dipping my toe (never mind my hair) into that particular water ! but I?m glad I did ! I?ve been three times now and the hair cut has just better and better I?ve never waited more than 10 min?s to be seen (but then again I go at about 4:30pm) and the service has been good the first time I went I decided to see a stylist and pay the extra for it, I?m glad I did I explained that this was the first time I?d been to a saloon and was a little worried that ... Recently moved to manchester and attempted to find somewhere I could get a decent hair cut, styled occasionally, and with washing before the cut. Tried razors edge several times and it delivered way below expectation. The staff are moody and make you feel like you shouldn't be there and they are often running late without apology. The place needs to drop the attitude and hire some friendly people. I regularly go to a place called Voudoo in Liverpool instead now - it's worth travelling as the staff are friendly and the rates are comparable. ... Read the complete review

I have been cut four times by four different people, every time hoping it would get better - but every time I was disappointed. So I will never go there again. All the four hairdressers have seemed very uninspired, never smiling, and almost rushing through it. I had a long argument with one about why I did not want my sides cut with the machine - because I do not want a neat crew cut, but the texture that the scissors give - to her great dissatisfaction, probably because it takes longer time. Today, I bought some shampoo there after my last ever haircut there; it turned out to be labeled wrong, so the girl behind the desk charged me a higher price. I pointed it out and ...
