      Advantages

      Disadvantages

If your hair is dry or brittle, you really should give this a try.

As the title says, Redken has been a bit of a revelation for me. I have long hair (about a third of the way down my back) and would love it to be longer, but I honestly have no patience for time consuming hair care routines. I do dye my hair (from a bottle - yes I know it's bad) because I like red and purple hair, plus at 25 I already have a good handful of greys, and even dying it feels like a chore. In the last 4 years or so I've had my hair cut twice. All of that together meant that my hair was staying at the same length and was generally very dry, prone to tangles etc.

I recently made my first (and only) visit of the year to a hairdressers and owned up to my lack of hair care (well the evidence was pretty obvious) and she said that it's amazing the difference using the right shampoo and conditioner can do. Now in the industry I work in people are always rubbishing your professional opinion - you can see them pretending to agree, but inside thinking 'what a load of bull, they just want me to spend more' and the conversation ends with them saying thanks and they'll ask their friend who's into that sort of thing (yeah because your friend knows more than I do). Anyway I digress... For that reason I decided to listen to her, ask lots of questions and buy what she recommended - Redken.

Now the conditioner was a lot more expensive than I normally pay - about £13 (usually I'm splashing a pound or so on conditioner at the supermarket). I'm sure I could probably have got it slightly cheaper elsewhere, but even though money is very tight right now, I do believe that sourcing the cheapest isn't always best, especially when it was professional knowledge that put me on to the product. So I decided to part with my hard earned cash and in return was given a 250ml bottle (why does conditioner always come in a smaller bottle than shampoo?!) of Redken All soft for dry/brittle hair.

The bottle is nothing flash to look at - gold in colour with a flat front and bulging back, it has a black flip top. I think the information on the rear could be a bit more, well informative I suppose! It doesn't give any guidelines on how long you should leave it on your hair before washing out - I went for a couple of minutes.

Previously when using my 'cheap' products, I would liberally douse my hair in conditioner in a failed attempt to get any kind of soft or smooth result and I was worried that I would be spending a lot of money on a product that looked like it was only going to last a few washes. I was informed though that it's only necessary to use a small amount - approximately the size of a 10p coin, concentrating on applying it to the 'ponytail' section of hair. I've found it very difficult to get used to using so little product and have to consciously stop myself using too much, but I stuck to what I was told and she wasn't lying - a little really does go a long way with this stuff.

Smell wise it's very, very subtle - luckily there are no nasty chemical smells and I would liken the scent to coconut. Consistency wise it's fairly thick and creamy, but doesn't feel heavy or greasy like some products do.

Even after the first use my hair felt instantly much better quality - I can brush it out fairly easily when wet (rather than the painful, frustrating tangles of before), when dry it's less frizzy (but I won't go so far as to say frizz free), it has shine where there was none before and it feels soft to the touch. It even seems to dry quicker when left, although I'm not sure how this is possible.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. While it initially seems like a lot of money for not much product - the difference in quantity used (at least for me) means that in the long run it probably won't cost you any more at all and the immediate difference in your hair should be convincing enough to have you wishing you'd done it sooner. So if you're not happy with the quality of your hair, if it's very dry, but you don't want to spend ages trying to get it to look good - try this, I doubt you'll regret it. I'm honestly a complete convert and time will tell if it helps in the quest to grow my hair even longer. Now I just need to find something to do with all my old bottles of shampoo and conditioner...

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A really good product, recommended :)

        Redken All Soft Conditioner (250ml)

I have used up this bottle and I have also used up the shampoo - both of which I have wanted to try for a while but it is a bit expensive, in my opinion, however I would recommend the All Soft range.

        - Product description (from feelunique.com)

"Redken All Soft Conditioner smooths, detangles, nourishes and controls frizz for shiny, touchable hair. Redken's exclusive Interbond Conditioning System and Silk-Luxe Complex target dry/brittle hair for intense, inside-out softeness, sleekness and brilliant shine."

        - About the product

This product comes in a 250ml bottle, although on some website such as lookfantastic there are also larger salon sizes and mini sizes although these sizes are quite difficult to find. The conditioner is designed for dry and damaged hair and it contains argan oil.

        - Using the product and results

The conditioner is an off white colour and it has a nice, pleascent sweet scent - it smells like something that would be used in a salon. The conditioner has a thick consistency, it looks and feels like any other conditioner. I use about a £2 coin sized amount as my hair is super long and thick. The conditioner is easily applied and it almost instantly detangles my hair when I use it through the ends/mid lengths of my hair and while using it the scent is released. The product is easily rinsed out and it makes my hair smooth, soft, detangled and moisturised. The name of this conditioner is apt, as it does make my hair really smooth and soft. The conditioner doesn't really weigh my hair down, unless I don't wash it out well enough and the product doesn't irritate or tangle my hair.

        - Price and availability

I bought this conditioner when it was on sale and I had an offer code so it was around £6 but it is usually priced between £8-12 which is fairly expensive for a conditioner in my opinion. This product can be found on lookfantastic, Hqhair and many other sites online (you may also be able to find it in salons).

        Conclusions

        Positives

        *Easy to rinse out
*Nice scent which lasts in the hair for a while, for me
*Leaves my hair smooth, soft, detangled and lightly fragranced
*The packaging design means that I could use all of the product and this product is fairly widely available online

        Negatives

        *Price - fairly expensive

Thank you for reading my review

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A beautful top quality product.

        Redken All Soft Conditioner
        --------------------------------------------

Isn't it strange when you have been doing Dooyoo for a long time that something you use everyday hasn't made it into a review? This was the case with my Redken All Soft Conditioner that is so much part of my hair care routine that I have it in salon size bottles in my bathroom!

My hair is naturally very coarse and prone to frizz, and without care it quickly becomes unmanageable. Several years ago I discovered Redken All Soft Conditioner, and being pleased with the results I would purchase for special occasions only, as due to this being a salon brand it commands a hefty price tag. I discovered subsequently that it could be bought in 1 litre salon containers which work out so much cheaper and this led to my more frequent use.

To give you an idea 250ml of the conditioner can be purchased online at the moment for the reduced price of £10.05 over on Lookfantastic.com, but a litre on Ebay sells for £24.95. I think as with all premium hair care products it pays to shop around, as the cost varies daily as the market has become so much more competitive. I always check HQ Hair at Hqhair.com, Feel Unique at feelunique.com and Gorgeous at gorgeousshop.co.uk.

What Is So Special About All Soft?
        ---------------------------------------------------
So what does this conditioner claim to do and what sort of hair types may benefit? Essentially this is a highly moisturising conditioner which has excellent de- tangling properties, and it imparts a smooth and shiny look. It is loaded with nourishing ingredients that Redken call their Silk-Luxe Complex, and these include Gold Camelina which is said to add luminosity and lustre, avocado and olive oils for moisture, and silk amino acids that are said to put back protein into the hair. The product also contains keratin and argan oil and these strengthen the hair rebuilding and adding vitality.

        How To Use.
        ----------------
To use you simply apply a walnut size amount to the hair concentrating on the ends mainly, but allowing the product to coat the roots lightly, building more heavily into the lower layers. It has a pleasant, almost honeyed scent, that is reminiscent of the L'oreal Elvive Nourish and Shimmer range that is sold in the similar colour pale yellow bottles.

        Makeupalley.com
        ---------------------------
Before deciding to purchase any beauty product, be it a lipstick or a shampoo, I always read the reviews on makeupalley.com. This website is absolutely fantastic as it has saved me a fortune. Since discovering it several years ago I have made very few "mistake" or "impulse" purchases preferring to gauge opinion first. This conditioner scores an impressive 4/5 and 70% said they would re-purchase. This is a high score, and certainly reviewers over there don't make judgements lightly, and furthermore this result is even more meaningful as there are almost 700 reviews of this conditioner.

        My Opinion
        -------------------
I found that this product transformed my hair from the first use onwards imparting softness and shine. It is so easy to use, and so economical as you only need a very small amount. As I said earlier I purchase the litre bottles now, and if you look on Ebay you can also buy the pump dispensers that fit on the bottles- some sellers are even throwing them in for free. I think this is excellent as the pump is integral to making sure that the conditioner lasts a long time. I find with use three times a week my current litre bottle is still going strong after six months and I have long shoulder length hair. In the past I have found that I have had to replace the bottle every nine months, so it works out at about £2.90 per month with use 3 times per week on average.

What I really love about this conditioner is that it makes combing the hair so effortless after use, and it makes styling so much easier as the hair lies flatter, and is more sleek and polished afterwards. It leaves a pleasant fresh scent on the hair, but this is subtle and not flowery or overpowering at all. This product is especially good if you live or visit windy places as I do, as it stops tangles, and it also works very well in controlling frizz in humid environments too. Another attribute this has is that it seems to make my highlights more noticeable, and the hair looks much more moisturised, and soft after use. I think it really lives up to its name with regard to the softness it claims to give, as my hair always takes on a lovely silky feel after use which is definitely not its natural quality. As I use straighteners every time I wash my hair I do use a lot of drying heat, and this conditioner still imparts softness and intense shine despite harsh treatments.

I also use the matching shampoo but this isn't mandatory to achieve optimal results, and I sometimes use other less expensive alternatives or mix and match with some higher brand alternatives. Redken also make a lovely summer holiday set, this has two small bottles of the shampoo and the conditioner in a plastic wallet which is ideal for travelling. This normally goes on sale in late Spring and is a lovely gift for someone or ideal for your summer holiday.

        Final Thoughts
        -----------------------
I think this conditioner is ideal for hair that is prone to dryness or is coloured, grey, or has a coarse texture, but reviews of the product on makeupalley state that all hair types can benefit, so unless your hair is naturally oily then I would recommend trying it. The initial shock at the price soon dissipates with the realisation that a large bottle negates the cost, and the results speak for themselves as this is a luxurious product that is in my holy grail of beauty products and one I am never without.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A great conditioner that will smooth and soften hair without over-moisturizing or drying

I have struggled with my hair for years. Under normal circumstances my hair is really dry and brittle, yet using any moisturizing shampoos or conditioners makes my hair really oily, no matter how much I wash it or how little shampoo and conditioner I use when washing. About 6 months ago my hairdresser recommended Redken All Soft and I bought it immediately. For the past 6 months I have used Redken only once a week, washing with a regular everyday shampoo and conditioner the remainder of the week. Now, my hair feels silky smooth and much stronger. I find myself playing with my hair all day long, as it feels so nice and soft, not dry and not oily! And it smells great as well! When rinsing out the Redken All Soft conditioner, I can feel how soft and smooth it has made my hair.

I use a little bit of conditioner once a week and due to this frequency, a 250ml bottle of Redken All Soft lasts about 3 months easily. A bottle cost around £10, sometimes on sale online for £7-£8, which too me is a hefty price for conditioner, but if it lasts 3 months and takes my hair back to its healthy state, then I think it is well worth the cost. I also recommend combining this with the Redken All Soft Shampoo.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Great product

          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Redken Allsoft Conditioner

I started using this product when I took my glue in extensions out, I could not believe how thin my hair was and there was no way I could have them back in. After a night of sobbing I made the decision that it was time to go oooh la natural and not have them put back in. In order to make my hair grow back as fast as possible I decided to invest my money on some good hair products instead to get it in the best state I could.
          -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I visited my local trade secrets and explained my situation, I firstly did a round of Matrix but although it did feel nice at first it didn't last long. I have now been on Redken for around 2 months, the first time I used both Allsoft shampoo and conditioner but used a Kerristace heat protective cream to get the protein into my hair for the strength. I wasn't impressed with the shampoo so I have now gone onto Redken extreme shampoo but again with this conditioner... so, why was I so impressed with this product?
          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firstly the smell is beautiful, it's really fresh and as odd as it sounds - professional... I will have to explain that one! It is a 'just stepped out of the salon' smell. Anyway, it's lovely! The amazing formula is said to smoothe and detangle, minimize frizz and leave you with sleek, healthy looking hair. Usually, I wonder where they gather these statements but this time I agree with it all. After using the shampoo and putting the conditioner on it feels beautifully silky smooth!! It feels like a really intense conditioner but it's not too thick, you also don't need to use lots. Formulated with Silk-Luxe Complex, Redken All Soft Conditioner contains a unique combination of ingredients. Gold camelina adds luminosity and lustre, avocado oil restores moisture and provides replenishment, olive oil intensely conditions your hair and silk amino acids counterbalance any loss of protein.
          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Directions of use:
          *Cleanse your hair with Shampoo.
*Massage Redken All Soft Conditioner into your hair.
          *Leave for 1-2 minutes.
          *Rinse thoroughly.
*For a more intense treatment leave All Soft in for 4-8 minutes and rinse.

          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Overall impressions
I am very impressed with this conditioner, it is doing everything I needed it to do and it leaves but with soft, shiny and healthy hair! A great investment if you need a better product on your hair, I really can tell the difference!! Mine costs me £12.50 for a 250ml bottle and I need a new bottle every three weeks or so. It is alot however I think it is definitely helping my hair and it needs a helping hand that's for sure!!! I would recommend this conditioner if your hair is not in the best condition!
