Advantages: I didn't experience any unfortunately
Disadvantages: Poor service, expensive, and employ amateur hairdressers who think a straight cut means wonky
It was December and the work Christmas party was approaching, i had two working days left to get my hair a trim. As i had left it so late i decided i would use a large reputable hairdressing company as i wanted a good job done - Regis (By new street station Birmingham) was what i though would be my 'safe bet'.
All i needed was a dry trim, no washing, drying, straightening, colours or style. I only had my hour lunch break so wanted to be in and out really.
When i first went in, my thoughts were 'right choice'. Both the exterior and interior of the salon were very impressive, not your backstreet sort of salon. Large, modern, beautifully decorated, it just looked very trendy and professional. How first impressions can deceive!
I told the receptionist what i wanted and she told me as it was a busy time of year the minimum fee was £35. I needed it done so i accepted the price, and was also glad she had told me this beforehand.
As other reviews on here have said, the service is a little impersonal. My hairdresser didn't attempt a conversation with me - but that didn't really bother me, i just wanted a good cut!
I paid my money and went back to work feeling relieved that i'd gotten it out of the way (even though i was down a massive £35 for 10 minutes of scissor action!) and i think we all feel better about ourselves once we've been to the hardressers :)
I walk into the office and one of my colleagues stopped me in my tracks and had a good inspection.
"Its really wonky"
"what do you mean??"
"here use my mirror"
We went into the toilets to use the big mirror and her little mirror so that i could see the back of my head - it was REALLY wonky! Like - diagonal!!
I put my hair up in a ponytail for the rest of the day, i was a little annoyed but thought there's no point getting angry, i'll go back on my lunch break tomorrow and get them to do it again - properly!
I did, and had a different hairdresser this time. She cut it, i looked in one of those measly little mirrors they waggle about behind your head and it seemed ok so off i go back to work again (Not so jolly today)
"Its still wonky"
"**********<insert angry words>****************!!!!"
I went to the Christmas do with wonky hair and £35 out of pocket. The week afterwards i went to a backstreet sallon and got a perfect cut for £8.50.
You can work out the moral of the story.
And i won't be visiting Regis again.
:(
Summary: I was better off beforehand
