Advantages: FRIENDLY to begin with...tea, coffee & magazines.
Disadvantages: DISORGANIZED, EXPENSIVE, DONT DO WHAT YOU ASK, HACK ALL YOUR HAIR OFF, ARROGANT AND STUCK UP
REGIS- NEVER AGAIN
In desperate need of haircut and color I decided to book an appointment at regis after a bad experience at rush a few months back. i spent 4 months trying to grow my hair long after a bob i had not even wanted (not to mention £250 that i could have done without) and it was now at that awkward stage. Having vowed never again to set foot in rush I made an appointment at the REGIS salon in Croydon, South East London. I made them aware both over the phone and in person repeatedly that i was working within a budget and needed something suitable within my price range...assured by what seemed to be competent staff that they would work within budget.
SERVICE TO BEGIN with i showed her a picture of EXACTLY what I wanted and she agreed it was pretty much straight forward long at the back slight choppy layers at the front and top with side bangs to take the weight off my thick heavy hair....I made her aware again that I was in the process of growing my hair long i just wanted to trim the split ends and keep as much of the length at the back as possible she agreed, we dicussed how she would go about it and I ageed....thoroughly convinced she would actually do what i asked since i had been so sprecific down to a picture of the exact cut color and style. I REQUESTED A CUT, COLOUR, WASH AND BLOW DRY. she began applying colour offered me a drink and gave me a few magazines, I was relaxed and enjoying the stress free environment .......
ROUGH HAIR WASH..... finally the hairdresser came and and said it was time to wash out the color. I proceeded to the sinks and sat down. No towel at the back of my neck to prevent water seeping into my clothes, she asked if the water was okay i responded it was....She began pulling the foil from my hair almost felt asthough my hair was being ripped from my scalp......she proceeded practically bashing my head about like I was a doll...she then began with the shampoo....soap almost in my eyes, water all over my face she slapped my head about...by at which I was becoming severely irritated, I therefore asked her when they normally closed she replied WE USUALLY SHUT AT 6 in an irritated tone....As she conditioned my hair the roughness continued...i was drenched in water she applied a towel to my head and showed me back to my seat to have my hair cut and blow dried.
CUT AND BLOW DRY DISTASTER....She took the towel from my hair and began fidgeting in the back ground her manager kept giving me a smile but it made me feel uncomfortable its as though she wanted to say something but didnt ...eventually she comes out with nice colour, suits you.... as the hair dresser came back she requested to see the picture again by at which time it was 5:30. She sed okay dats fine I can do that at which point the manger pipes up will you have enough time to do that because we are going to close soon. She replied yes she could but she would not be able to dry my hair fully I agreed thinking since she would not be blow drying my hair it would less of a cost.... the manager gave me of coming back another day at which i became furrious as it cudnt have waited another day if it could have i would have booked an appointment at Trade Secrets who I knew from experience where some what reliable but the were fully booked well into next week... So I mad it aware politely I would not be able to do so and I was not happy at which the hairstylist said she could manage it but would not be able to blow dry it I agreed once again... so once again she viewed the picture checked the length and proceeded to cut....cutting more off then requested layers did not blend in and the overall length and style of the cut was nothing like what I had requested....at which time the manager appeared out of the stating i should pay now as they had to cash up ...I had been quoted 94 to 100 ... plus having calculated £60.00 colour £34.00 cut wash and blow dry = £94.00...I asked the manager how much...the stylist shouted i logged in the amount already its written down....the stylist bushed my hair and then began rough drying the manager shut does that include treatment....i felt like i almost had a heart attack....all i had was £100 and £23.00 saved for emergencies. The manager returns with my hair half wet half a frizzed puffy mess she says with a smile £123.50...thinking i had no choice but to pay i dug out my emergency £23.00 ...desperately searching for 50p i did not have...i ended up saying i did not have it as i had stated i was working within a budget and i was not working it was a gift from my mum....she took all i had it was only then as most of my hair had dried i realised although the stylist had got the colours right i had asked for salshes of colour which she had not done.
AFTER PAYING ...The stylist asked wither she should book me an appointment for 8 weeks time...i refused saying I would call, hating confrontations later regretting not giving her a pice of my mind... TREATMENT ..WHAT BLOODY TREATMENT...I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE HER PUT IN ANY TREATMENT...SHE DIDNT EVEN BLOW DRY MY HAIR. £123.00 for doing everything but what i asked.
My OPINION never again!!!!!! not unless you want a hack job and to be charged obscene amounts of money of which you could probably get a better result from doing a DIY JOB at home....even my best friend and boyfriend stated whoaaa I can see why your p***ed thats a proper hack job ...and the price omg even im working and I wouldn't pay that and you paid that much for something you never even wanted.....NOW I HAVE TO SPEND MONTH GROWING BACK HAIR WHICH HAD TAKEN ME MONTHS TO GROW BACK FROM AN INITIAL HACK JOB.
Summary: THE WORST EVER HAIR DRESSERS I BEEN TO, RUSH DID A BETTER JOB EVEN THOUGH EXTORTIONATE.REGIS NEVER
