Advantages: Price, Good product
Disadvantages: Not quite up there with the best
I never used to straighten my hair, after all, i am a lad and it always seemed to be a bit of a girly thing to do.
However, as my hairstyles got longer and wilder, i realised i needed something to help keeping it in place; as just hair product was no longer working.
I had heard some of my mates talking about straightening so i picked up some fairly cheap straighteners, these cost me about £39 (which compared to the likes of GHD's is an absolute steel) and gave it a whirl.
From that point, i have never really looked back since.
However, this is a review of this product and not straighteners in general.
Having now used a fair selection, different irons at my girlfriends etc, i have come to realise that what i stumbled accross was a great great find.
I have had mixed reviews with other straightening tongs but these always do the jon and get the hair nice and straight and hot, in order for me to put some product in my hair.
It has to be said that on holiday i did try my mates GHD's and they were absolutely superb and probably did a better job than these bad boys, however, they are about £70 more expensive which just isn't viable on a student budget.
They heat up really quickly, meaning you do not have to hang around all evening waiting for them to get up to the correct temperature, as i do when I use my girlfriends, and the ability to update and change the temperature to whatever fits your hairstyle is a real bonus.
Therefore, if your in the market for a pair of straighteners and you do not have the money, like most of us, to opt for the highest and most expensive option, then i would definately get these; they do the job quickly and efficiently, without leaving you a huge straightener style hole in your back pocket.
A very good product from remington
Summary: A good product when on a budget
