Advantages: Very high temps, quick straightening, amazing results, long cord!
Disadvantages: Curling isnt as easy with these as GHD, up tro 1 minute heat up time for hottest temp!
I bought these straightners after the ones I had blown up on me (while halfway through straightening!!!!!). And so I had to promtly get some more, I refused to pay the prices of GHDs and they're not very reliable as after a year tend to blow. So i did some research and found these little beauties! They're Nano-diamond ceramic...which is better than plain ceramic plates. And they can use a range of temperatures from 130 degrees to 230 degrees which I think is great! They have a digital display and you can lock the plates in place for easy storage! Mine came with a heat protected bag and mat as well which is great!
For £50 these straightners are amazing value for money!! And for some reason when you straighten your hair with them, it stays in...I straightened my whole head of very long and normally untamable hair yesterday for a job interview, and left my hair down when sleeping, and when I woke up this morning, my hair was still perfectly straight and didnt even need a brush going through it! Whereas with GHDs I found hair went frizzy and needed straightening again if you were going somewhere that evening which is an extra 30 minutes on top of everything else.
I love these little beauts! :-D They're one of the best things I have ever bought, brilliant value for money, extra long plates so straightening time is halved.
I would recommend to any girl (or boy!!) who may be looking for new straightners, definately recommended over GHDs which I have used in the past. They're easy to handle, and can reach temperatures of up to 230 degrees which is hotter tha GHDs too!!
The only thing I can fault is when using the highest temperature, warm up time is around 40 seconds to 1 minute, but as I say this is only for the highest temp and they can be used within 10 seconds as they reach temps of around 150 within the first 5 seconds!! :-D 3m cord which means you don't have to be stood right next to the plug socket!
As well as been extremelly fabulous, they're also pretty too which i think is also important!! And come in 3 different sizes depending on the hair type you have!
Another bad thing I noticed, was that curling your hair isnt as easy with these as with the GHDs due to the shape of the casing around the plates, its still possible, but a different technique would be needed and i think it would take longer with these than GHDs.
Go buy these, they're absolutely fabulous!!!!!!!
Summary: 10 out of 10 for these little beauties! I love them!!

- 10/01/09 Glad your going to look into them instead of the GHD's...my friend has had i think 4 pairs of GHDs in 3 years...all of which have blown up just after the 12 month warrenty...after which they wont exchange them!!
And when your paying £100 for them...its not good!! These are half the price and even better than the GHDs...they're hotter...with longer plates!! :-D |
