I decided to buy these back in the summer from Argos as I really needed some new straighteners and these were half price in their sale. Prior to these I had some remington wide wet to dry straighteners, but much as I loved those I really needed something that would heat up to a better temperature. So, what did I get for my £19.99? These straighteners are packaged very nicely. Inside the box you'll find the straighteners, along with a black plastic comb, four long hair clips and a heat mat/case to store them in. What do they look like? The straighteners have a very nice appearance, they are black and have a digital display on ... Read the complete review

Having had two pairs of the same (quite expensive) hair straighteners die on me withing 3 months, I needed some new ones, fast and cheaply! I didn't want to pay loads of money, yet having quite thick hair I wanted to ensure that they would actually straighten my hair. After some searching around I found the Remington Straight in a stroke straighteners, these were cheap as they were on a half price off and I had a gift voucher for the store. I decided that at this price (£17.50) I could get them and if they were no good I wouldn't have lost much. The straighteners, like nearly all others, have a temperature control. The control on this model is a digital ... Read the complete review

This Remington Straight in a Stroke has to be a GODSEND to womankind. I was planning on getting a paid of straighteners about 6 months ago. I had never used one before and hence was very skeptical about what to buy. I did not want to pay too much for it either as I was not sure if I would like it. I know that Remington is a good brand as I have used some of their other products. I read the reviews for this product and people were raving about how good it is. I think the original price is £39.99 (don't quote me on that) but at that time, there was a 50% sale at Argos and they were selling these for £19.99 I think. I used my nectar points to buy them and I ... Read the complete review

I just chose this for one of my birthday presents - after about a year of sneaking in my teenage daughters bedroom and borrowing her straighteners. I'm really happy with them. I didnt want to spend too much as my need is just to tidy up a few stray ends that just would not respond to blowdrying. Now I dont blow dry at all just use these instead. They have a cool tip and the plates are not too wide for shorter hair. They heat up really quickly and the 230 degrees is more than anyone could want - I use a much lower setting with good results, in just one stroke as suggested. The heat mat is essential as they dont easily sit upright by themselves (the ... Read the complete review
