Advantages: Good price, efficient, serious capability

Disadvantages: Not the very latest technology (but that's all hype anyway in my opinion)

I just chose this for one of my birthday presents - after about a year of sneaking in my teenage daughters bedroom and borrowing her straighteners.

I'm really happy with them. I didnt want to spend too much as my need is just to tidy up a few stray ends that just would not respond to blowdrying. Now I dont blow dry at all just use these instead. They have a cool tip and the plates are not too wide for shorter hair.

They heat up really quickly and the 230 degrees is more than anyone could want - I use a much lower setting with good results, in just one stroke as suggested. The heat mat is essential as they dont easily sit upright by themselves (the one deisgn fault) and it also acts as a carry and storage bag to put them away tidy when cool. You get a styling comb and hair clamps to help you style. Plus get a good long lead - which I needed.

This product was on offer at Boots when I got it for £29.99 reduced from £49.99. Plus just buying a few more essentials and I qualified for free postage AND 600 bonus advantage points. Good old Boots.

Summary: Sensible choice - well thought out product, good price
