Advantages: The smell

Disadvantages: Doesn't make my hair straight as the name suggests !

- Price and Packaging -

The RRP of this 150ml bottle is £4.99 however I got it from Tesco's clearance section at half price.
This comes in a cuboid like purple bottle. The bottle has a lid underneath which is a push down spray nozzle which thus far hasn't blocked or clagged which can sometimes happen.

- What does it promise? -

~ Create long lasting sleek and straight results.
~ Lightweight heat protection and straightening spritz.
~ Smoothes and tames.

- How to use it? -

It's suggested that you lightly spray this through towel dried hair and then comb through.

- My Experience -

~ Smell - This has a lovely fresh invigorating aroma yet doesn't clash with any heavily scented shampoos or conditioners that I may have used.

~ Application - This is very easy to apply, just spritz it over your hair and comb (or brush as I do) it through.

~ Effectiveness - I have very frizzy medium length hair which is very difficult to control and look sleek and shiny. As with all hair care products that promise sleek, shiny, straight hair, I was looking forward to trying this and visibly seeing a transformation in my locks.

Unlike the promises on the bottle, my hair certainly does not look sleek and straight after spritzing this on my towel dried hair. I do however have to admit that it does ever so slightly calm the frizz making it a tiny bit more manageable but I certainly won't be getting calls to advertise it as a calming and taming product!
As for it protecting my hair against heat damage, I'm not sure how I can measure it's ability to do this but I feel a little better that I am at least making an attempt to coat my hair with a protective barrier.

- Richard Ward Products -

There are quite a few hair products in the Richard Ward range:
~ Balance Control shampoo and conditioner
~ High Shine and Control Spray
~ More Moisture shampoo and conditioner
~ One More Day
~ Shine and Define serum
~ Stay Straight shampoo and conditioner
~ Ultimate Repair Mask

If you go to the shop section you will have to scroll through approx 170+ products from different manufacturers. Not a very consumer friendly website in my humble opinion.

As for this product winning a Hair Magazine Award in 2008, all I can say is that they mustn't have had quite as frizzy hair as I have been stricken with!

N.B. This review also appears on ciao.

Summary: Doesn't really do what it promises!!
