I had the Brazilian blow dry in the Woking Salon. I did not ask for it. My hair was fine. I got a hard sales pitch and thought, why not. The treatment is supposed to leave your hair beautifully conditioned Following the treatment my hair has fallen out in clumps. I have cut my hair (at a different salon) three times following this treatment but it hasn't helped. The damage is right to the roots. This treatment destroyed my hair. They said this has never happened before and apologised. Somehow I doubt this. I received a refund a month later but only when I complained. I was told that perhaps the straighteners used directly after the treatment were probably too hot. Who knows -who cares- they destroyed my hair. I do not believe that the stylist knew what she was doing. The apology was meaningless. My long hair, which was in good condition is now short and still completely broken to the roots -there is hair loss on the underneath. It is a disgrace that Rush Salon are promoting this product or not training their staff in its use. If I am just a one off then surely that's enough to put you off using this salon or any salon within the Rush Group. You have been warned. !!
Rubbish, Rude staff who ignore you when you arrive, give you no assistance or advise when picking color or style. They leave you waiting mid way through and arrive stinking or cigarette smoke, rough with hair and charge you top price for a lack of service and experience. NEVER AGAIN.
I have been growing my hair for over a year so I could have a great re style. Thought 25 % off seemed like a bargain. I was a bit apprehensive of having too much hair off, and took a picture of the style I wanted. Well can't complain about having too much cut off, but I don't know what picture she was looking at. left me with all the weight on top and nothing like I wanted. Oh the excuses came about my hair not being the same as the picture. Wasted and hour of my time and £60 quid lighter in pocket.
I thought I'd try RUSH as it was offering 50% off if you booked before a certain date - it does say that the price may change and you would be notified before or DURING your appointment - basically, do not take that lightly because it seems to me that's how they get their business. Complete scam.
I usually go to Toni & Guy, and although it wasn't quite up to the standard (the hairdresser was of a high level but seemed a bit awkward and clumsy) I have awarded one star for being satisfied with the overall cut and style. The hairdresser was also accommodating and friendly, yet didn't talk too much (which I personally prefer). However, for the following reasons, I could not award more than that:
1. I asked for 1940's style big curls - I have naturally curly hair so basically wanted my own curls smoother and bigger. I was told the manager refuses to buy the tools to create the style despite its popularity.
2. It was very cold throughout the appointment, as if the door was open constantly.
3. The person washing my hair splashed a lot on my face. I was going out afterwards and had already done my make-up and wear contact lenses, so this wasn't a great start.
4. I asked if I could have it styled with a round brush and hairdryer, instead of just using the diffuser on the hairdryer (I thought, I can use the diffuser fine myself and that I couldn't get the same affect myself using the brush combo). I had stopped her just as she told me to bend my head up-side-down to dry it which just seemed strange. After being told they would "honour" the price I had printed out from the email of £30 because THEY HAD BOOKED ME WITH THE WRONG HAIRDRESSER who was of a higher level, they told me I would have to pay £15 more with some ridiculous excuse about it being blow-dried and it taking more of her time. I think they should have charged me the amount they actually said as it was their "mistake" and not my fault. The whole reason I went there was because of the half-price deal which apparently wasn't running until after the new year - the opposite of what was actually in writing in the email and online.
5. A friend I met up with afterwards told me of the exact same experience in regard to pricing and when I asked who it was with... you guessed it, RUSH!
So my advice, is to expect that it won't be as cheap as you think when you get your confirmation email with any discount! Because they are clearly scamming customers it just shows they have no clue about how to get new customers and I'll probably return to Toni & Guy next time, where I have been going ever since I started going to hairdressers (my dad used to cut my hair!)
I will be avoiding it and urge you to do the same.
AVOID! THIS PLACE WILL SCAM YOU WITH FALSE DISCOUNTS!
Alwful colour experience in salon and online shop :- shoprush.com took ages for my products to arrive & the so called manager I spoke to was rude & patronising. I will never ever shop or get my hair cut/coloured there again! Absolutly alwful experience from all parts of the company! Beware!!!!!!
Being a worker in One New Change, I'd thought I'd try the Rush hairdressers downstairs as my previously lovely hairdresser at Rush Kensington had left. As I sat down (and was left waiting for half an hour), I watched the nearby hairdresser rather inexpertly struggle with a blow dry and thought "I hope that's not who I'm seeing". As Sod's law would have it, that was my hairdresser. I've had a pretty good cut for the last 3 years for my fine frizzy hair and asked or something similar. After telling me I looked very tired and must be using the wrong products - odd, given I'd been going to Rush for years - he then proceeded to inexpertly butcher my hair into the worst hair cut I've had since teenage years. I'm now going to spend 3 months growing out the mess. After explaining (very politely) at the end that I was very unhappy with the cut, he then said if I rebooked then I'd get 25% off! No thanks - avoid this particular branch of Rush like the plague, I am going to make sure the ladies in my office know to avoid!
I actually went in their saloon at Earl's Court. I am local and I will never go back. They were overpriced (charged 40 pounds for a wash / blow dry). I wanted my hair in a casual semi - pony tail, she wanted to charge me 50 pounds more for that because according to their catalogue this is a ''hair up''. The staff were not that friendly and a bit arrogant especially after I declined their suggestion to pay for 90 pounds! !!!
The end result was not even professional. We had a formal occasion on that evening and my friends did not believe I actually went to the hairdresser!!!
Very disappointing service, all in all ... Not worth the money and the reputation. Luckily after this experience I discovered a little little hidden hairdressers in the area, who would charge me only 27 pounds (almost 35% off their price) are friendly and professional.
So my verdict is.... ROUGH hair not RUSH hair...
Dreadful in every way. Decided to try it because of the 50% off deal. Wasn't offered a drink. Had my hair cut by the Style Director who despite my request to only take a little bit off - has cut it too short. Its also uneven and lopsided. I don't normally write reviews unless I ahve something good to say, but every girl knows that a good haircut is make or break. The stylist verged on rude throughout most of the cut, railroading me into signing up for expensive products and treatments. I couldn't wait to get out and will never go back. I want to complain but woudl be too scared to let them try and fix hair that is already too short.
I visited Rush earls court London for hilites and restyle, after spending most of my life visiting many top stylists Around the world. When I entered the salon I was greeted by a man in the reception area, I must have been blessed that day, all the senior stylists were fully book, so he suggested I should go with Alexandra who is a stylist, she greeted me and made me feel at ease. The hilites and restyle was the best I have ever had she made me look Ten years younger!!! Her understanding of colour was amazing and the restyle was just FAB!!! I will be back, great value for money, I would recommend this stylist and salon 10/10
I have to admit that I had mixed opinions about going to Rush - they seem to be the marmite of hairdressers but I am really glad that I gave them a go.
I opted for a half head of highlights, cut and blow dry with a senior technician. She was really nice, not overly chatty but she understood what I wanted colour wise and was really helpful when I said I was bored of my graduated bob. I was impressed with the number of foils that she used for a half head. The girl who shampoos was great and I was suckered into a Moroccan Oil treatment, but really glad that I did as it has made my hair soft, shiny and smells amazing.
The colour is great, I feel as though I have a full head of highlights, the cut is lovely and far softer than my previous style. Overall I was really pleased with my Rush experience. They were attentive and kept me stocked with magazines to read and water to drink. It is not the cheapest salon around but then I have been to cheaper and have been disappointed. I will certainly go back and give them a chance. Reading other reviews there are clearly some branches that have issues, but not at Tonbridge.
I work in London and have always had my hair done in town, but I saw the new Rush salon in Sevenoaks (where I live) and I'm sooooo glad I've found them! From the minute I walked into the salon I was pampered! They've got this gorgeous room where you have your hair washed and with the lights dimmed, I had the most divine head massage. I was really lucky that on the day I went (a Saturday), the Colourist Of The Year works there and I ended up with the most beautiful shades of blonde highlights that I've ever had. I cannot praise them enough, it was amazing. I've recommended all my friends and they love it too so I know it wasnt a one off! I left feeling amazing and ready for a nigth out! I've since taken my mum there too and she was really looked after by Danielle. Can't recommend Sevenoaks enough!
I am really shocked at these negative comments below I couldn't have a better experience! In the past i have gotten my haircut at various other hairdressers and I have never been so happy with my cut and colour. I was recommended to go by a friend and thought I would take advantage of the 50% offer that is currently in action. I paid a reasonable price which was not at all expensive for the quality of the cut and colour I got and it was worth every penny. In addition, the customer service I received was fantastic. As soon as I arrived I was made to feel welcome and my stylist was friendly. Definelty recommend RUSH if you are looking for a high quality haircut for reasonable prices.
After having a dreadful experience with another salon near Strand I decided to try Rush as many of my colleagues had recommended it to me, so using their online offer I decided to get my haircut one evening after work. (not supposed to have the offer at night time but the manager let me heehee ;) ) My stylists name was Erny (i think that's how you spell it) a lovely young girl, no older than 19/20 years old. Had my hesitations, as you always do when trying a new stylist, but wow did she prove me wrong. Everything in this salon is perfect, beautiful decor - magnificent chandelier, peaceful hideaway shampoo area (close your eyes and your in an idyllic spa on a balearic island) the stereotypical French waiter waiting on me hand and foot - FREE UNLIMITED wine too, couldn't believe it. Everything was amazing. And to top it off if I recommend my friends I get £20 off. Will not be going anywhere else! Big congrats Rush - you're on to a winner with this one.
I went to the new shop in Ealing Broadway - normally, I would go to Toni and Guy, but there was a 50% offer on...Doubts started immediately when the stylist / colourist told me I couldn't have highlights. I was thinking of leaving, so he suddenly decided he could do them. He not only stripped out the home hair dye I'd used previously, but all of my natural colour, leaving long orange ropes instead of my usual dark hair. I ended up with ORANGE HAIR - I had asked for dark brown with caramel highlights - and had to go to Toni and Guy next day for a toner to at least make it look halfway normal. No way was I going back to Rush EVER. And on top of all that, even with the 50% offer, I had to pay £240!
I have been to Rush at Moorgate and again to Rush one new exchange. I foolishly thought the 50% offer was a good idea when i first had my hair cut at Moorgate. The cut then was disastrous, i have short hair and it was just all wrong. Then i thought the otherday, ill give the rush a go at the new Mall in one new exchange cheapside, and i had a medium level stylist cut my hair who barley touched it but on the part she did she managed to cut at the wrong angle and make my really short hair poke uplike apeacock. I decided to go back again today and get her to have a look at it, and between her and a senior stylist they have given me an Undercut!!!! I am going to be laughed at so much by my friends and family.
SO DO NOT BE FOOLED INTO USING YOUR 50% PROMO BECAUSE YOU WILL END UP PAYING ANOTHER HAIRDRESSER TO FIX THEIR CATASTROPHIC FAULTS.
I will now be stuck in a hat for 4 weeks
