Disadvantages: Isn't strong enough to hold really complicated styles!

I hate hairspray but I use it as I really do need it to calm my wayward locks and set it into a style! I normally buy Lee Stafford hair products but at the minute I have very almost the full range of all that stuff! I find though I get through it all very fast so when out shopping of late I do look for cheaper options to basically get me through the week then use my 'posher' stuff which I then use going out somewhere special extra or at weekends. I know I get through a lot of money using my top branded stuff everyday which seems a waste when it's purely vanity and no one sees me anyway so I thought I'd give this a go!

The Packaging...

300ml recyclable white cylinder, tall can with a white push button aerosol sprayer to the top of it covered by a pull on/off white plastic lid. On the front of the can in white writing (on top of an orange band of colour to the top of it) I'm told it's Sainsbury's Basics. Length-ways down the can in orange writing I'm told it is Hairspray 'Holds for hours'. On the back of the can this time all in black writing I'm given directions for use and cautions, ingredients are listed, I'm told the size (as I've listed already) and the bar-code is on there. Very simple, economy packaging this is indeed but what do you expect for 37p a can? Lol.

Directions for use....

Shake can well before use. Hold can upright approximately 12 inches from your hair and spray lightly and evenly taking care to avoid eyes.

Me Using It....

Well of course I use this on my finished style to 'set' it somewhat. It's quite moist when you spray it opposed to a mist but it does spray out evenly and not soaking wet or anything like that. It smells light and airy and is actually rather pleasant and very lightly floral and fruity however once on the hair after about half an hour that smell vanishes anyway so in my opinion the smell is so light and fresh and nice that anyone (male or female) could use this) though lightly does it cos the more you use the more floral the smell gets!

So I spray it lightly on my hair. You can't see it and what's more it really is none sticky and light and you can't feel it at all when you touch your hair after using it. However the more you spray on the more feeling of hairspray you get so with this I really do find less is more and it's a case of a quick spray and I'm done.

Easy to use? Exceptionally. Easy to wear? Incredibly so... yes. This does a wonderful job you'd expect from a much more expensive, top brand hairspray. Not only can you not feel it, and it doesn't smell cheap it also holds hair in place for hours in a really natural way. It really controls without making the hair feel stiff. Also it brushes or combs out easily and hair is left ungunked and soft and clean. Usually when I have used hairspray my hair feels dry and gritty but not with this at all.

Now of course if you have alot of humidity in the hair this won't promise to protect you and it won't keep a beehive up in gale force winds but what this does give is a hold that is quite natural looking and subtle and does a very decent job. It also gives hair a really nice mature satin shine to it and hair not only feels hydrated (without being greasy) it also feels it and I love stroking my hair with this on and no residue or stickiness comes off on my hands.

Overall....

I've use far more expensive hairsprays than this in the past that haven't been half as good as this cheap one! It washes out easy, keeps my fly-ways under control and holds my cows licks fringe straight (once I've styled it that way). I really do rate this hairspray surprisingly it's a really brilliant every-day product that works out so cost effective it's unreal! I shall buy it time and time again for sure! Brilliant buy and not just cos it's economy even at 6 times more than this price it would be worth it!
