Advantages: Good enough smell, price and nothing else.
Disadvantages: Too runny and tangles the hair.
I bought this shampoo earlier this month because it was very cheap to buy and since I use a lot of shampoo in my home I thought it would be a good idea to try it since the bottle was quite a large one.
The shampoo comes housed in a clear plastic bottle which has a screw off top. it is a pink colour and is quite a soft liquid, it does have a runny consistency it tends to drip from the bottle while pouring it. The bottle as I said is quite a large one and it has a kind of perfume smell to it but not one that is very strong but adequate enough a smell since it was such a cheap one.
Because the liquid is quite runny I tend to use far more than I really want to and find that I cannot use just a small amount like I usually use with this shampoo. I think using a lot of shampoo which isn't really needed isn't worth it. It does however lather really well indeed with no problems at all. It is very easy to rinse from the hair in no time.
It does clean the hair well but I don't think the quality is very good even for the cheap price. It costs just 40p for a 1 litre bottle and so a lot of shampoo for the price but for this price I don't think it is very good value for money compared to some other cheaper brands of shampoos. I would rather pay a little bit more for a better shampoo and one that isn't runny.
It is a family shampoo and I would say that this one would only be suitable for anyone who wants to buy one at a very cheap price and they cannot afford one that is over the price of this one.
I have washed my older grandchildren's hair with it but the first time I used it, it dripped all over the place because I couldn't hold the bottle so good while washing their hair. It hasn't irritated our scalps and it has left it soft enough but not as soft as a branded one and it doesn't leave the hair looking shiny or in a good condition. It leaves the hair feeling a little rough and my granddaughter's hairs have been knotted and tangled and so I only used it the once for their hair because I didn't want to make them cry trying to brush it when it is knotted etc and this one did make it difficult to brush it at the time but I went very gently brushing it.
I wouldn't recommend this shampoo because I think it is too runny a liquid and the bottle is far too big. Had to just use it on my own hair on and off just to use the shampoo and not waste it. I think if Sainsbury's reduced the bottle size and made the liquid a little thicker, it would be a far better shampoo.
I won't be buying this one again in the future it is a waste of my money.
I rate it only 2 stars.
Summary: A very cheap shampoo and too runny a consistency.
