Advantages: Effective for getting rid of nits
Disadvantages: Budget price so dont expect miracles as far as hair looks
This is so much more than just a shampoo and conditioner and I will explain why in a moment.
This is currently selling for £0.54 for 300ml compared to Original mint source tea tree and mint shampoo which is priced at £1.97 for 250ml
It comes in a clear plastic bottle with frosted top and is green in colour, it is very basic to look at with minimal information but the price is very cheap and I'm not just wanting it to make my hair smell nice!
Ingrediants
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Parfum, PEG/PPG-14/4 Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Benzoate, Limonene, Benzophenone-4, Melaleuca Alternifolia, BHT, Hexylene Glycol, CI 42051, CI 47005
As a shampoo which is for all hair types which is supposed to leave your hair full of vitality - it's not that great. It does have a very pleasant minty aroma but fails to lather a great deal when washing hair.
However this is a great shampoo to have on stand by for anyone who comes into contact with younger children especially because...............
It KILLS NITS AND THE EGGS
My Son came back from a week with my sister and her two small children and, to my horror, he had got nits. I imediately went and bought this shampoo along with the conditioner as this works far better in my opinion than other specialised shampoos which do not smell pleasant and cost a small fortune!
I shampooed his hair then liberally applied the conditioner and left it for 20 minutes. I then combed through with a nit comb - the nits literally fell out, before rinsing. I am almost certain he was clear after the first treatment but he has fairly long hair so I did this 3 days running to be sure. I then made him use it whenever he washed his hair for about a month as a precaution though this wasn't really neccessary. I used it on myself - just incase! and the other half was made to as well.
I am unsure what it is in the tea tree which works but I do know it does - and this is a cheap way to treat all the family after an outbreak. When my son was younger I used to make sure heis hair was washed in tea tree shampoo/conditioner at least twice a month to prevent infestation.
Summary: Medicine cabinet must have

- 07/10/08 A timely review there as my daughter has just called to say all three of my granddaughters have the dreaded nit, from the 12 year old down to the 15 month old. She's beside herself! |
