I don't get to go to the Hairdresser as often as I'd like - which is a shame, as I quite enjoy having someone fuss round my hair . One of the highlights of every visit is having my hair washed - I get a really good scalp massage out of it, which feels lovely .

It doesn't just feel good - a scalp massage does have certain benefits too . For starters it boosts circulation which aids hair growth - but it's also relaxing and calming .

However, its not something I had time for at home - until now . I purchased these brushes some time ago from Amazon, at £11.59 for two . Taking them out of the packaging, they are made of a bright purple flexible rubber - very like those silicon kitchen tools you get . They're bendy, and have lots of little fingers, also flexible, sticking out of the bottom . On the back of the brush is a fingerhole, to make holding and gripping the brush easier.

To use these, you simply wet your hair as normal . Then you can use this purely for the scalp massage, or to help mix in shampoo evenly. With nicely wet hair, it glides through easily, and the little fingers feel like they are gently carressing your head. Moving the brush in circular motions, it bends to accomadate the various lumps and bumps of my head, and is gently stimulating. It's really quite pleasuarble and relaxing, and is just a very gentle massage .

I've found that when using it for actual shampooing, the best thing is to apply shampoo as normal, and then use the brush to even it out before rinsing . The brush can also be used during rinsing to make sure all the shampoo is out.

These come in a pack of two - one is still unused. The one I do use, I use on a regular basis . Not everytime I wash my hair - sometimes I don't have any extra time and want to lather,rinse and go . But when I have a little more time, especially on occasions such as treating my hair to a well deserved hot oil treatment, these come out . They show no wear and tear so far, although the colour of them has faded a little due to getting a lot of sunlight. However, this is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect their use.

The fingers on the brush don't get clogged with hair the way an ordinary brush might, and they don't yank any hairs out of your head either, which is good.

The one downside is I find the finger space at the back a little snug - but then I do have quite big hands for a girl, and it's only really a minor problem, as the product is still perfectly simple to use .

For a little bit of extra pampering and relaxation during bath time, I do recommend these . They're not expensive, and the gentle stimulation they give when you use them is so relaxing! It's not ona par with a full on hair dresser massage, but its pretty good! I do think my hair is in better condition since starting to use these, although I have switched conditioner and been blow drying my hair less, so this may not be down to the brushes .
