Advantages: wont drip, good colour, not permanent
Disadvantages: none
Its OK I don?t mean I?m about to pop my clog?s I?m talking hair dye. I am quite lucky when it comes to my hair. Its quite thick with good body, slightly curly but not too much and doesn?t go frizzy very often. I also count my self lucky when it comes to the colour. I am brunette and despite being in my late forties. I have very few grey hairs and it is quite a good rich colour. Although I do not really need to dye my hair. I do sometimes feel like a change. Especially if I?m going out somewhere special, or even just to cheer my self up. I do not want to use a permanent hair colour just yet. I used to use a semi permanent called ?Harmony? that I thought was very good, it just washed in. Lately this seems to have vanished from the shelves of all the places I shop. So I have been forced to look around for an alternative. I went into Superdrug to see what was suitable. I didn?t want to go to a lot of fuss. I was attracted to one box in particular on the shelf. The box, which was a sort of reddish brown with a picture of an attractive woman on the front. Was very informative and held a lot of information. It told me it was ?tone on tone colorant? and was full of light and shine. That it washes out after 24 washes. It also contains Bees wax and Wheat protein and is gentle with your hair. It covers grey leaving your hair beautifully soft and healthy. The box warns you it contains Hydrogen peroxide, Resorcinol and Phenylenediamines. These are products that can cause an allergic reaction. It recommends that you perform a skin sensitivity test 24 hours prior to using the colorant. The kit contains: 1 Bottle of colour lotion 1 Bottle of crème developer 1 Tube of shine conditioner 1 Pair of gloves 1 instruction leaflet This seemed just what I was looking for. I paid £2.99 for it in Superdrug. There were quite a few colours to choose from. I was in the mood to go red, my favourite colour to go.
> When I went to use it, I found it very easy to use. The gloves were stuck on the back of the instruction leaflet and easy to remove. They also fitted quite well, making it easier to work with. The leaflet itself was very easy to understand. With clear instructions and even pictures. It was also written in several different languages. The bottle of colour lotion screws into the bottle of crème developer. You then give it a good shake to ensure that all the mixture is mixed properly. When the mixture is ready you just dampen your hair and using the gloves provided apply the entire contents of the bottles (if you have long hair. You are advised to use two bottles). Massage in thoroughly and ensure even distribution. You leave the mixture on you hair for twenty to thirty minutes. This is the bit I hate as other dyes I have tried tend to run all down over your face and neck. They some times colour your skin making you look like a large cat or something has mauled you. This one I was very pleased to find hardly ran at all. It just seemed to hold itself well in my hair. After my waiting time was up. I rinsed it from my hair. As with all hair dyes it took some rinsing but I did find the conditioner seemed to help to clear it. When my hair was dry I was very pleased with the results. The colour was nice and rich, quite natural looking and it was very soft and shiny. I found that all the dye was easy to remove from my skin. Also when I washed the towels it all washed out quite easily leaving them nice and clean. I don?t think it lasted as long as 24 washes like it claims to on the box, more like about eighteen or nineteen. It did last long enough for my liking though. It does wash completely out so after a short while you can try a different colour. All in all I found this product safe and easy to use. I also feel it gave the desired results. I would recommend it anyone just wanting a quick fix or a change. Tha
nks for reading.

- 15/10/03 I have had some hair dye disasters and so I am too scared to try a permanent dye. This sounds good and is a really good price. |
