I always love trying out new products. Especially hair one's actually and I can't possibly admit to the amount I spend on here, usually though on treatments I don't need in fact lol. However the one thing I suffer from rather badly is hair loss. I don't mean I'm not going bald but due to an eating disorder my hair is rather fragile and when I bath or shower I lose loads off hair. The Dr told me not to worry and that it is normal and like I say I'm not losing patch's of hair or anything but when I lived with my parents they were always going mad about bunged up plug-holes! So a little paranoid about it yes I am and so when I saw this product (in Boots) I decided it really did have to be worth a go! The Packaging: Bright pink oblong box and on the front of it I'm told that it is Schwartzkopf Activ F 'Dr. Hoting', Hair Retention Care System, 'Tonic' and that it's for Women and contains Carnitintartrate, Echinacea + Taurine and that it is to 'Encourage hair growth and reduced normal hair loss'. Other information on the box includes being told a bit more about the product and how to use it, ingredients and the size is stated (which in this case is 150ml) and contact details for Schwarzkopf are listed. Inside the box you get a bright pink plastic bottle with a long thin nozzle to the top of it and it looks basically like the box in design and gives much the same information really. A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Packaging: The innovative Activ F Care System for women: Slows down and reduces hair loss Encourages hair growth Strengthens hair The ingredients in the Schwarkopf Activ F care System maintains the condition of the hair follicle and encourage hair growth. The unique formulation reduces normal hair loss and maintains existing hair growth. Active F helps to maintain full and strong hair. Schwarkopf Activ F Tonic has been developed to effectively reduce normal hair loss and encourage hair growth. The Activ F Tonic: Slows down and reduces hair loss revitalises and strengthens the hair Remains on the scalp all day, giving optimum results Will not overburden the hair Directions For Use: Using the applicator, sparingly and evenly apply the tonic directly to the scalp, gently massage in. For optimum effect and to maintain best results use twice daily. The non-greasy formula remains on the scalp. Style as usual. Me Using It: Well I use this in accordance with the directions stated of course and I use this on dry hair and well, twice a day. This is a none greasy clear water like tonic really but with a very fragrant smell which I assume is a blend of some sort of fruits oils and flowers, it's nice and sweet though. All you do of course is massage this sparingly into the scalp (and not the whole hair), you don't need a lot of it and it's easy to direct it onto the scalp via the applicator. It dries almost immediately and then you can simply forget it is there so easy to use it really is! Results: Well I have used this consistently for a few weeks now and it has lasted me absolutely ages now, the only thing about about it is I can't see how much is in the bottle as it's coloured! I did have high hopes for this but sadly it really doesn't work for me at all! I have noticed no difference in hair loss or hair strength or anything else and believe me I looked for it! Although it hasn't worked I can say that at least it hasn't dried my hair out or made my greasy roots worse in any way shape or form. Even though I use this daily I haven't noticed any build up neither and it certainly doesn't weigh my hair down but like I say for all those positive aspects this has to it, it doesn't work for me. I paid £10.99 for this in Boots though it is available online far cheaper than that (like on Amazon).
