      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Cheap but do not believe the hype

      It was probably being a bit naive to expect this conditioner from Schwarzkopf to miraculously straighten my hair after washing without the need for any additional sprays or straighteners and sure enough it failed to deliver. In reality all it really promises to do is help with the straightening process and in that area it performs no differently to any conditioner that leaves my hair smooth and easy to style.

      I paid a pound for this in the land of pounds and at this price it is a perfectly acceptable purchase. It comes in a pretty standard 250ml plastic bottle with a flip top lid that acts as the base for the product when not in use. The contents inside have a pleasant enough smell, quite sweet but not overly so, the conditioner is white in colour and of medium consistency, it is not as thick as some conditioners that I have used and even with longish hair you do not need to use a lot in any one application.

      In terms of the actual results, well my hair feels nice and supple after the conditioner has been rinsed out and there is a nice enough shine to it however I did notice that this look does not last all that long. In terms of my hair being any easier to straighten after using this product then I cannot see that it lives up to that claim. I guess my hair does not frizz that much but then that tends to apply after using a whol;e range of conditioners and not just this one in particular.

      For me this is all about a marketing ploy with the manufacturere aiming the product at a particular segment of the market, as a conditioner it is functional without being amazing, not a product I would avoid but not one I would actively seek out is my final opinion on it.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A great conditioner that I really do like!

      When I was recently in my local Poundland store I came across quite a few shampoos and conditioners I hadn't seen before and this I bought along with the matching shampoo at only a pound a bottle which I thought was great value for such a well known brand and the bottles looked nice too! I have wavy/curly/straight hair but usually style my hair straight so thought this sounded like a good product to start off my straightening routine with!

      The Packaging:

      This comes in a dark lilac plastic bottle that has a light bronze and purple style flip top lid to the bottom of it concealing a small hole and then on the front of it in black and white writing we are told that it is Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair With Liquid Keratin 'Bamboo & Orchid Essence Asia Straight Conditioner and that it offers 'Long-lasting straightening & shine' and that it is designed to be used on Rebellious, Frizzy Hair. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a little bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients are listed, the size is stated which is 250ml, we are told to use the product up from the time of opening it within 12 months and contact details for Schwarzkopf & Henkel (the manufacturer of the product) are clearly stated. This is a nice looking bottle and a different colour to the bottle of shampoo and with its dispenser at the bottom of it opposed to at the top as is the shampoo bottle design which is great so I don't get mixed up!

      The Conditioner:

      The conditioner is white in colour and glossy and not runny but not stiff either meaning it is easy to squeeze out of the bottle. As with the matching shampoo you don't need very much of this conditioner per application as a little of it distributes easily through the hair and I either apply it to damp/wet hair and then quickly rinse it out if I'm in a hurry but I have also left this on my hair a few minutes too whilst shaving my legs in the bath and the likes!

      Scent wise this is pleasant enough. Its rather sweet, slightly creamy and is scented very gently floral. I am a little disappointing by this ranges scent expecting something more potent, spicy and oriental however it is a nice quality scent and it does linger on the hair for a few hours after washing it too.

      This is easy to rinse out and leaves my hair really naturally soft and with a nice shine to it. Hair is easier to style straight after using this as it does seems to eradicate frizz and general roughness from my hair however it doesn't simply leave my hair poker straight sadly!

      I really like this conditioner though and in fact I like the conditioner more than I like the matching shampoo to be honest and I have used this after using different shampoo I own as well as it always leaves my hair feeling so nice!

      Not my favourite ever conditioner but I do like it but for me I'd appreciate a more in your face scent!

      Available in all good chemists and supermarkets as well as in places like Poundland.

      A good conditioner for £1

      ~~~~~~~~~~
      The Gliss range
      ~~~~~~~~~~
      I recently bought both this conditioner, along with the matching shampoo, in my local £1 shop. It is part of the Gliss range of haircare products that have been around for many years and I often see in pound stores as well as other discount stores. However, as far as I'm aware, you won't find them in shops like Boots or Superdrug.

      This Asia Straight conditioner contains bamboo and orchid essence and promises to give straight, glossy hair for up to 24 hours. It contains keratin to repair hair from within, and claims to leave hair looking vibrant and shiny after just one use. As with the shampoo, it comes in a nice looking purple bottle that looks more expensive than it actually is.

      Using the product
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      This conditioner is white and is a thick consistency. It is simple to apply to the hair and I find it coats it really nicely. Sadly the conditioner has only a very faint scent, and not a patch on the shampoo which smells lovely! I leave this on for several minutes before washing it out. It washes away easily and leaves my hair feeling nice and silky.
      The results
      ~~~~~~~
      After towel drying my hair, it is easy to manage and tangle free. And after my hair has dried, it feels nice and soft, although I wouldn't say it is much more effective than other conditioners I have used. I also don't think this really smooths my hair much, but as I have naturally curly hair I was not expecting any miracles!

      ~~~~~~~~
      In summary
      ~~~~~~~~
      Overall I do really like this conditioner - although I have used conditioners that have given better results in terms of softness and smoothness. However, for £1 I don't have much to complain about, and using this alongside the matching shampoo - which I always do - it does give nice results and leaves my hair feeling soft and smelling fresh. I definitely think I will buy both the shampoo and conditioner again if I see them for £1!
