Schwarzkopf Gliss Colour Protect Conditioner is a great hair care product for my hair but then there aren't many Schwarzkopf Gliss products that I am not impressed by.
The Colour Protect shampoo and the conditioner are choices that I often make when buying my hair care products.
After colouring or high lighting my hair I always choose to use a colour protect shampoo and a conditioner alongside it. The trouble is I find that the conditioner doesn't last as long as the shampoo as most conditioners don’t go as far as the shampoos do. I would say that I use around one and a half bottles of conditioner to just one bottle of shampoo. This means that it can be hard to match products even if I buy two conditioners (which I usually do) to one shampoo. However, this is the case with all brands of shampoos and conditioners and not just Gliss. To be fair I would also say that Gliss conditioners do seem to go a little further than many other brands.
I like the way Gliss Colour Protect conditioner feels when I apply it to my hair. It rubs in well and I try to apply to the ends of my hair rather than the roots as my hair tends to be oily. After a couple of minutes I comb the conditioner through my hair using a shower comb. My easily tangled hair combs through quite easily with Gliss.
Gliss feels nice on my hair. It feels as if it is caring for my coloured hair without being too heavy or waxy. It rinses out well.
When my hair is dry it always feels smooth after using Gliss conditioner and it styles easily.
I would recommend this product.
I buy Schwarzkopf Gliss Colour Protect Conditioner from either Savers or a pound store.
I usually bulk buy.
Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair ~ Colour Protect Conditioner
Having just turned 50 at the end of last year and having the inevitable grey roots sprouting here, there and everywhere I do tend to have to colour my hair more frequently than I used to a few years ago. I also spend many months of the year in the hot sun which fades the colour from my hair much more quickly and can leave it very dry and straw like.
Because of this I am always on the lookout for shampoo's and conditioners that are kind to coloured hair to avoid having to touch up or re colour quite so often.
I found this conditioner, along with the shampoo, in my local Poundland about 2 months ago and thought I would give them a try. It is the conditioner I am reviewing today.
This conditioner comes in a very plain and ordinary looking plastic bottle with its flip top lid at its base ...... so that it is sitting on its lid. It has Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair written across the top of the bottle in bold lettering making it easily recognisable. The reverse of the bottle gives us the ingredients and usage instructions.
This conditioner comes out as quite a thick, white cream. It smells really lovely and not at all overpowering. In fact it seems to have an almost milky coconut smell that is quite sweet. The smell stays in your hair for quite a few hours after drying too which is lovely. It last a very long time too as you only need a small amount in the palm of your hand before applying to the hair. I have shoulder length hair and I only use about the size of a fifty pence piece amount which easily covers mine.
This conditioner comes with UV filters giving protection against early colour fade and leaving your hair with a healthy shine. In fact it claims to give up to 90% colour retention even after 30 applications.
The results of using this are really good the conditioner goes on the hair with ease and washes off again just as easily with no need for vigorous rubbing in the shower to get rid of any residue.
When my hair is dry I can comb it through easily too it feels smooth and free of tangles, and it smells wonderful. It leaves the hair feeling soft to the touch and light and bouncy. The colour shines through too and lasts for very much longer than it used to when I was using my usual shampoo's and conditioners. I have found too that it is best to use both the shampoo and the conditioner together to achieve the best results.
All in all a great conditioner that I would recommend to anyone who regularly colours there hair.
This conditioner and the shampoo are available at Poundland for a pound each, and also available at Boots and Superdrugs and some supermarkets, for around about £2.00 for the 200ml bottle.
Thank you for reading my review!
I recently purchased the Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Colour Conditioner Shine & Protect for going on holiday. I am always wary of coloured hair fading in direct sunlight so always ensure that I buy specialist colour protect shampoo and conditioners when I know I am going to be in sunnier climes, not always necessary at home particularly as I live in Scotland!
In addition to the conditioner I also bought the shampoo in the same range to give my hair at least a fighting chance.
The conditioner smells great, it complements the shampoo's fragrance and is certainly not too overpowering but fragranced enough so you get a light waft of it every now and then when your hair is dry. The conditioner is a creamy white gel, and unlike the shampoo is of a good consistency not too runny or too heavy. The gel coats the hair nicely and doesn't feel too heavy on it, it is also easy to rinse off which is a major plus point for any conditioner. After use my hair felt glossy, clean and conditioned and on drying my hair it was soft, shiny with no tugs and tangles, this is particularly impressive as I was in and out of salt water and chlorine pools as well as getting sun cream through my hair. The conditioner managed to deal with all of these issues and left my hair in great condition.
The conditioner has the Gliss formula of liquid crystals and UV complex which protects coloured hair making it vibrant with a longer lasting colour shine and it is a mild conditioner that is great for daily use. My hair was easy to manage, shiny and healthy looking and my colour didn't fade at all which is exactly what I was looking for.
I used the conditioner in conjunction with the shampoo, both of them came in a 250ml bottle and they were a particular bargain as I managed to get them for a £1 each in poundland, which was a result as I had seen them in the supermarket for more than double that price. I can thoroughly recommend the Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Colour Conditioner Shine & Protect and will be stocking up on it for future sunny trips and warm summers at home (I can wish!)
I bought a bottle of this conditioner in the Pound Shop a few weeks ago and was impressed. Schwarzkopf is a good make and the bottle claimed to be for coloured hair which suited me.
I have long hair about shoulder length which is thick and coloured blonde and I also have some weaved highlights so it is generally a hairdressers mop which is serviced every 6 weeks. Without my GHDs it would be out of control, but I also need a good conditioner to prevent drying and splitting of what is essentially processed hair.
I also like to spend time in the sun in the summer and this conditioner has a UV filter which helps to prevent colour fade.
So my thoughts on the product. The most important thing I have to note is the smell of this, it is the most beautiful scent of any conditioner I have ever tried. It is absolutely gorgeous and when I have used it my husband often comments on the fragrance which stays in my hair all day. It is summer fresh and has a suntan/coconuts feel to it.
The conditioner is easy to apply and rinses off leaving no sticky residue, and the comb goes through the hair with ease leaving no tangles at all.
I can't fault this product and though I bought it in The Poundshop, which I have found to be a very good source of inexpensive branded hair products, it is also available in Superdrug and Boots where I have now purchased it regularly.
I was recently reading an online article which was in The Mirror newspaper. In this various ways of saving money by choosing really good but inexpensive products were suggested. With the credit crunch I think this is a helpful tool for anyone wanting to reduce their outgoings without compromising on quality.
In this article it recommends this product as it uses something called Scan Repair Complex which identifies the hairs which need treatment and repairs them without affecting the other hairs too much.
To read this article Google "How to bag the best cosmetics buys on a budget" and it will find it straight away.
Incidentally this article is a great read as it details many other products which work and save money.
So having first identified the product in the Poundshop I have had no hesitation in paying more for it elsewhere as it is a really good product-it has to be to cope with my mop! You can buy the matching shampoo as well and there are many other products in the range.
All in all a great buy and a product which not only works but leaves your hair smelling beautiful.
