Advantages: lovely smell, leaves hair soft

Disadvantages: Doesnt add shine

I recently bought a bottle each of Gliss Oil Nutritive Shampoo and Conditioner. I chose this over the other products in the gliss range, as it is designed for longer hair prone to split ends, which is my hair type.

~About the product~

The conditioner is made by German company Schwarzkopf. Schwarzkopf have many different product lines, and their Gliss brand has been around since 1952.

This particular conditioner contains Argan Oil and Shea Oil and the formula is designed to repair and restructure the hair, and promises up to 97% less split ends.

~Packaging~

The conditioner comes in a bright yellow bottle, which is slightly angular at the top, and stands upside down on its lid. I really liked the design of the shampoo bottle, but I'm not so keen on the design of the conditioner bottle, I think it looks a lot cheaper than the shampoo.

~Using it~

I absolutely adored the fragrance of the Gliss Oil Nutritive shampoo, so I was delighted that the conditioner had the same smell, although I do think the conditioners scent is a little bit subtler and more creamy. The smell reminds me of mandarins, it's extremely fruity and summery.

The colour of this conditioner is absolutely gorgeous! It's a pale, pastel yellow in colour, and almost looks like custard! I've never seen a conditioner this colour before in my life, but I love it!

The conditioner should be applied after shampooing, and the back of the bottle states to 'leave in a short time' before rinsing. That, to me is just slightly ambiguous - I mean, what counts as a short time? I have been tending to leave it on about a minute before rinsing.

The conditioner glides over the hair smoothly, but, like the shampoo I feel that quite a lot is needed with each use, as using only a small amount, doesn't seem to detangle the hair very well.

~Results~

By using a bit more than normal, I found that this left my hair tangle free, and soft to the touch. The lovely fruity smell stayed on my hair whilst it was still wet, but as with the shampoo, all but disappeared once it was dry, which is a shame, as I love the smell so much.

Appearance wise, I don't think it really made my hair look any difference. On the plus side, it didn't go huge and frizzy as it often does after washing, but then again, it didn't seem to increase shine or anything like that.

As for having up to 97% less split ends, I can't say I've really noticed a huge difference, but it may be that you have to use the product for a while before you notice a change.

~Price~

This cost me just 99p for a 200ml bottle on special offer in Boots, but I believe that the full price is £1.99

~Conclusion~

I liked this product, but didn't think that the conditioner was as good as the shampoo. It did leave my hair feeling soft, but on the other hand I did have to use quite a bit in order to detangle it. I love the smell though, it's amazingly fruity and perfect for summer!
