I'm following on from my previous Gliss shampoo/conditioner review, and I can only say, it gets better!
I previously used the "total repair" gliss shampoo and conditioner, but on a recent trip to the shop, simply liked the name "liquid silk" so thought that I would give this one a go this time. Plus, it was only 99p again from Bodycare so definitely couldn't complain! This is for a 200ml bottle.
This conditioner claims that "an uneven hair surface makes hair feel brittle and look dull. Hair requires nutri-care that smoothes the cuticle - for hair like silk."
Similarly to most of the Gliss haircare range, the bottle is a nice size, and easy to handle. It's got quite an attractive shape to it, and I also like the shiny pink colour. The bottle is quite thin, which I think is what makes it so nice and easy to hold maybe? But as mentioned above, the thing that really attracted me was the name liquid silk! The cap is easy to open, which is great as I hate fiddling with caps when in the shower!
The smell of the product is really interesting. It's not fruity or even flowery like some shampoos, conditioner and haircare products. In fact, it's probably slightly on "less natural" side - but, saying this, it isn't unpleasant, and I actually quite like it when it has dried on the hair. It is quite heavily perfumed, but it isn't a bad smell so no negatives there!
The first thing that I noticed on using this conditioner was how clean and shiny my hair looked, and how soft it was. It also seems to be straightening my hair out a little which saves as much hair work to actually tame it! As mentioned above, my hair does smell nice too once it has dried. I must admit though, I do need to use quite a bit, but I wouldn't really say that this is much more than usual conditioner, especially considering the cheap price!
I have only ever used this shampoo with the liquid silk conditioner, but I really have loved the results that I have had from it, so would definitely recommend, especially to anyone with curly hair that they want to tame! If it works for me, I think everyone else would stand a pretty good chance!
I love this conditioner and i have been using it for about four months now. It is neither too strong nor too weak and it never makes my hair look flat or lifeless and it really does add a bit of a shne. My hair has become much dryer since I have had it lightened and the roots are also very greasy so it is very difficult to get a conditioner that agrees with my hair type. This one cost me only ninety nice pence from Home BArgains (this is where I purchase most of my hair care products now).
It stands on its head and the lid flips open The conditioner itself is rich and creamy and not too runny which i like The fragrance is light and delicate and it really gets rid of al the knots and tangles out of my hair and rinse off well..
As I say, it was very well priced and Would certainly recommend it.
I rarely stick to the same hair products because I find my hair reacts better to regular changes of formula, but I must say this is one of my go-to brands and out of all the schwarzkopf conditoners this is one of the best for dry hair.
I have fairly dry and frizzy hair anyway, and on top of this I colour it and use hair straighteners so I always need a quality conditoner. This one is thick and creamy and has a very pleasant slightly fruity smell.
After I have combed it through my hair I wash it out almost instantly and find that my hair is left smooth and silky. It washes out well, without leaving residue, and my hair is left with has a deep shine and a smooth lightweight feel, which can last several days.
I would definitely recommend this product for people with damaged mistreated hair, especially as I am often able to buy it on a bogof offer together with the complimentary shampoo
Having previously reviewed the Schwarzkoph Gliss liquid silk shampoo I thought I would also review the matching conditioner as I have been using them together. I purchased the shampoo and conditioner when I spotted them on offer as I am not brand loyal and tend to change my shampoo and conditioners quite frequently.
I purchased a 250ml bottle of the conditioner recently from Superdrug where it was recently on a half price special offer at just £1.25 which I thought was very good value.
The conditioner comes packaged in a lovely shimmery pink plastic bottle with a pink and gold flip top cap and can be distinguished from the shampoo as it stands on its lid. The labels on the bottle detail all the necessary information including ingredients listings, directions for use and state how the conditioners formula works to give its results.
My hair is quite dry and a little brittle as I tend to blow-dry and straighten my hair almost daily. This conditioner claims to contain a cell repair system to repair your hair to make it more supple, add shine and protect against breakage.
I have been using this conditioner following the matching shampoo for around two weeks now and have been quite impressed. The conditioner itself is thick and glossy and I find that I only need to use a small amount to cover all of my hair which is really good as with many conditioners I tend to find that I need to use quite a lot and run out before I finish the matching shampoo. It has the same light floral/fruity fragrance as the shampoo which is very pleasant and not too overpowering. It also rinses out easily leaving my hair feeling smooth and silky and not at all heavy like I have not rinsed it enough like I have found with some conditioners. After drying I have found that my hair feels much smoother and is less frizzy which has cut down on styling time. My hair after styling also looks glossier and therefore healthier and feels very soft to touch.
Overall I would certainly recommend this conditioner for people with dry/damaged and frizz prone hair as it has certainly made mine look healthier. Also for the price I think it is complete bargain especially if you can find it on offer.
5 stars from me.
I'm reviewing GLISS hair repair LIQUID SILK CONDITIONER.
It comes in a plastic bottle containing 200ml.
Available in Chemists and of course in POUND Stores.
I must confess my hair is generally in good condition , but winter takes it's toll, plus occasional periods of ill health leave my hair dull and in need of a boost and that is when I tend to use conditioners.
This is one of my trusted favourites in my collection.
It is used very basically in the method where you apply a small amount to just washed and still wet hair, massage through gently, and then leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
I usually wash my hair first thing when taking a shower, and then apply this and leave it to work it's magic while I'm washing the rest of my body. After I'm finished my shower I finally rinse out the conditioner. That time line suits me .
It washes out easily and leaves no residue or tackiness, just clean feeling hair.
The conditioner itself is a nice pearly white and not runny. It actually DOES look like "liquid silk" due to the pearlescent gleam of the lotion. It feels quite creamy and is very easy to work through the hair .
It has a lovely fragrance too, very lightly aromatic (not heavily perfumed) but yet it still manages to leave a pleasant smell in my hair after my hair has been fully dried.
Don't be put off by the smell from the bottle. While it is pleasant enough it is not as pleasant as when actually in use.
***WHAT I THINK OF IT***
I love it. GLISS is always in my bathroom cabinet in one form or another.
Like I said, I don't use conditioners a lot and when I do I tend to rotate them ,because for some reason my hair gets acclimarised to any I use too often and then it becomes less effective.
So far this one is still very effective and a pleasure to use.
The bottle has a very broad flip top lid which is ideal for standing it on the shower shelf or storing in the bathroom cabinet.
Regarding the fragrance.... I generally have about three or four bottles of conditioner open for use , but husband won't use this conditioner at all and yet he uses my others regularly . He says he can still smell the 'perfume' off himself after using the GLISS. So this one is all mine and therefore I'd label it "girlie" . The bottle being a pale sweet pink with a bright pink flip-top adds to that I suppose.
I'd say it lives up to it's claims of repairing hair . My hair tends to be shiny and healthy after using it and it seems to nourish it without making it in any way more prone to becoming greasy in the manner some conditioners for dry hair do.
Styling after using this is easy too,so that's always a bonus, and I never need to use extra setting or styling products .
Would I recommend it ? Yes,I would.
Thank you for reading.~~myloh.
My lovely mother in-law bought me a bag full of Schwarzkopf hair goodies for my birthday. Schwarzkopf Gliss isn't a brand I had ever used before and I was looking forward to using something a bit different from what I would normally buy. The Schwarzkopf Gliss Liquid Silk Gloss Conditioner claims that it can repair hair cells to give 130% more shine.
The bottle of conditioner comes in a wonderfully girly bottle. The colour of the bottle is a light, sugary pink with a silver flip cap at the bottom which is also how the bottle stands up. The bottle has the Schwarzkopf logo right at the top with Gliss printed in large, bold letters underneath it. It also states that this is a hair repair conditioner and aimed at people with brittle or dull hair. Compared to the packaging of other hair products in my bathroom, I do like this one more. The colour is brighter, the bottle sleeker and it generally just looks nicer.
As my hair is pretty long and very fine, it doesn't look very full or healthy most of the time. I get split ends extremely easily and blow drying and straightening doesn't help this. I like my hair to look as nice as possible though and have been looking for a shampoo/ conditioner that makes it look healthier for a long time. This conditioner claims that it contains proteins that are identical to those in actual hair which makes it able to repair deep inside the hair. This sounded like a pretty good claim to me but was it true?
After shampooing my hair, I used a dollop of the conditioner (probably a bit more than most people would) and covered my hair with it. After leaving the conditioner on for a couple of minutes, I rinsed it out and covered my hair with a towel straight after getting out of the shower. Even before combing through my hair I could feel that my split ends were not nearly as dry as normal. Once combed through, my hair felt so much more healthy than I had been used to. The comb glided through my hair instead of me having to take a long time to get through it.
After blow drying, I could see the effects rather than just feeling them. My hair is softer, smoother and definitely shinier after using this conditioner and it also smells really nice too. My boyfriend regularly comments on how nice my hair smells now since using this. Also, as I do have fine hair, I find some conditioners too harsh to use every single day and I generally have to change up what I use. However, this one does not weigh down my hair at all but instead, it feels soft every single day.
I absolutely love this conditioner and it is now my new favourite. A 200ml bottle of this conditioner will currently set you back £2.49 from Superdrug.
When it comes to shampoos and conditioners that I purchase I am not all that fussy what I buy to be honest in the way of brands. I do try to buy products however that fit into my bathroom colourscheme wise but that's about it to be honest lol.
This I bought on my travels recently when I was mooching around my local Poundland store and of course it cost me just a Pound and I bought the matching shampoo to this at the same time so I have been using the two products together most of the time (though you don't have to of course!).
This comes in a really nice quality and rather classy looking bottle. Its a light pink plastic bottle with like an iridescent sheen to it and there is a light bronze and light pink flip top opening to the bottom of the bottle covering a small hole. On the front of the bottle there is a strand of hair shown and a strip of pink colour entwining it and we are clearly told that it is Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair 'With Liquid Keratin' and that of course it is Liquid Silk Conditioner and that it also contains Liquid Silk & Gloss Enhancer and it for 'Compatibility & shine, hair as smooth as silk' and that it is for Brittle, Dull hair then on the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and what we can expect from using it, directions for use are clearly given, we are told that once opened to use it up within 12 months, the ingredients are stated as is the size which is 200ml (and the only size I have ever seen this available to purchase in by the way) and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly listed. Nice bottle this really is and easy to squeeze to dispense the product out of and so on.
All you do of course is wash your hair thoroughly first and make sure that it is clean then all you need of this glossy white and quite thick, sweet sort of floral fragranced conditioner really is a small blob.
I have below shoulder length hair and use about the size of a 20p coin, it smears through my hair easily and feels really moisturising as I go and I can feel the knots and tangles easing out just when applying this and then I just leave it on my hair a couple of minutes. It rinses out easily taking any remaining knots or tangles out at the same time the conditioner is rinsed out of my hair and my hair feels really soft and silky and that's before I even move on to drying and styling my hair!
My hair can be combed through easily when damp after using this, hair doesn't feel like it has any residue on or in it, it smells wonderful though not too strong.......just fresh and clean and I find my hair ever so easy to style after having used this conditioner.
I love this one. This doesn't upset my prone to greasy roots one bit but does tend to moisturise and hydrate sensibly and thoughtfully where I need it to. My dry, spit ends are not one bit dry after using this, my frizzy mid section feels less so and softer and overall my hair has a natural shine to it and feels and appears quite silky! Its almost a miracle for hair like mine!
I don't need to use much per application, I can use it on a daily basis (which I do most days) and people have commented how lovely my hair smells even a lot of hours since initially using it and all in all I think is a fabulous, reliable conditioner that doesn't only look like it helps my hair appear better but my hair feels it too. I've noticed alot less breakage since using this, I do dye my hair and it doesn't strip the colour out and my hair is easier to style.....what is there not to appreciate about this fabulous conditioner?! Its all round goodness in a bottle I reckon!
Available from all good supermarkets though I see this so often in B & M and Pound shops though do Google if interested and this is on sale on Amazon at the moment though with P+P you are looking at around the £4.00 mark!

WHAT IS IT?
A hair conditioner from Schwarzkopf that is for brittle and dry hair. It says on the bottle that it will make my hair shine and there is a matching shampoo available also.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
After you have washed your hair you apply a small amount of this conditioner to the length of the hair and rinse off.
WHAT I THINK
I did not like the Gliss shampoo very much but the conditioner is a lot better and it makes my hair nice and shiny. It is quite hard to rinse out of my hair and when it is on it makes my hair feel a little bit sticky but this feeling goes after I have made sure that I rinse it all out of my hair.
It does not smell very nice I don't think because it has got a smell that makes me think of plastic but it is creamy as well and the 2 smells do not match very well together, I am glad that the smell does not last for very long on my hair because it is an ugly fragrance.
My hair feels very soft after I have used this conditioner but I think it is too soft because sometimes I cannot style it properly because my shorter layers go very fly away and that makes styling hard. I have noticed also that if I use styling gel after I have used Gliss conditioner than my hair goes oily early on in the day but this doesn't happen when I use other conditioners and I do not have the same thing happen when I use hair spray or other styling products. My hair feels strong after I have used this conditioner.
I like that my hair feels so smooth after I have used this conditioner but think it needs to be washed a little bit earlier than if I use another one, I do not use the Gliss shampoo any more because that made my hair very limp but this does not happen with the conditioner so I am happy about that. I do not think I will buy it again because I like to use more effective conditioners and I do not think this is the best that I can buy for my hair.
I only paid £1.59 for my bottle of Gliss conditioner and I think that is very cheap because it does work.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
After completing my shampoo with the shampoo that matches this (see last review) I moved onto the conditioner again I was drawn when purchasing it to the pearly pink bottle it also cost 99p from Home bargains and has the same new cell repair sticker as the shampoo. You get 200ml in the bottle which sits on its lid for ease of use.
When I opened the bottle the coconut scent was a little more stronger than the shampoo and the liquid is thicker like any other conditioner.
So what I did was to rub the conditioner into my wet hair applying more to the ends which I feel need more as they are drier. I then shaved my legs etc whilst leaving the conditioner to so its magic. I always feel condtitioner works better if left longer. I left it about 2 minutes and then washed it of. My hair felt smoother even when wet which was a good start I felt.
So I brushed my hair an dfelt that my brush did just glide through my hair finally another shampoo and conditioner which does that. So I dried my hair and brushed it throught then approached the mirror to see the results. Magically my hair does look more shiny and feels really soft and has a light coconut fragrance. I could not say if it has repaired my hair from inside I think I need to use it for a longer time to see if my split ends disappear however my hair does look healthier.
Another great thing is it has not irritated my hair or hands and if anything my hands feel softer than they have in along time so thats an added bonus! I think I shall be sticking to this from now on!
5 stars from me.
I think I have tried just about every shampoo and conditioner on the market. I normally find myself changing both shampoo and conditioner quite often just to get the right results. I have lightened hair which becomes very dry if it is not looked after and I find that curling tonges and using a hot rod makes it even harder to keep it shiny and looking in good condition. . . . Until I came across Gliss Liquid hair products
Im sure this was available in the 80's then for some reason it disappeared from the shelves?!! I was out shopping, browsing through the pound shop when I noticed it. For a pound, I thought I would give it a go??
I couldn't believe the results, my hair is in much better condition and I have been using it now since Jan '10. It can be difficult to find but more recently I found some supplies on a local market for £1.25 per bottle - Bargin!!
Try it? It is really liquid hair because it make your hair feel like new!!
I am always on the lookout for hair products to tame my frizz and keep spilit ends under control, so anything with the word 'repair' in it always catches my eye. As someone with coloured hair I need a shampoo and conditioner to keep it in check and keep the condition salon fresh.
I chanced upon this a few weeks back and decided to give it a shot, as it was offer at the time. Schwarzkopf is not normally a make I would plump for, I tend to stick to John Frieda, Tigi or Pantene so I was initially dubious.
Comes in a plastic bottle with a flip top lid. This stands quite well in the bath or shower and there is no problem with leakage.
What is it:
A conditioner which claims to turn your tired straggled hair into gloosy healthy tresses.
I did a regular shampoo, taking care to rinse out all traces and follow with a blast of cooler water. I then took a dollop of this stuff, about the size of a ten pen piece and worked it through from root to tip. The conditioner rubs in well. The consistency is a little gloopy, but it is not runny. It is easy to work into the hair and less is often more with conditioner.
There is a scent, nothing too overpowering. I was picking up light floral fragrances. The conditioner is billed as liquid silk. I would not say it feels like silk, but then what does wet silk feel like? It does have a creamy lightness to it though and if you run your hand through the hair, you will notice it feels very smooth, even at the wet stage.
I rinsed it out after a minute and blotted dry with a towel before following up with a blowdry.
I was pleased to see that the conditioner had actually helped with the split ends. I could feel that the cuticles had been smoothed and felt tamer. The only issue I take with it, is that it made the hair harder than normal to style, as the hair lakced oomph, which made my fringe quite flimsy.
You can pick up a 200ml bottle for about two to three pounds. It is best used in conjuction with the shampoo. I did feel a difference, so maybe one to consider if you have dry hair and fancy changing products for a week or two.
Schwarzkopf Gliss is a spray in conditioner that comes provided in a light pink plastic bottle which is long and thin (different from the picture) and comes with a golden plastic lid. There is a press down spray dispenser nozzle for spraying the conditioner through towel dry or dry hair.
When sprayed in to my hair it does make it a little damp, it's fairly thick and sprays out of the bottle well. It has a lovely scent to it that's completely different to any other spray in conditioner that I have used before. It does not smell like standard conditioner and smells pretty luxurious and the smell lasts in my hair for many hours after use and when I use it before a night out I can really smell the gorgeous scent and have had a few nice comments on it in the past.
This product is designed to help with dull and brittle hair and apparently it repairs the inside of the hair cells and I have noticed my hair looks very healthy even when I've been straightening it but this could be a combination of products I'm using at present.
I've been very pleased with this and although I probably wouldn't have picked it up myself as it looks a little like a serum or something more expensive I will definitely be picking this up when my current bottle runs out.
I received this as a present so wasn't sure of the cost but when I checked Superdrug it's available for just a few pennies under £2.00 and I was astounded as I think this is excellent value for 200ml of this conditioner which has lasted me for quite a few weeks and still has a fair bit left.
When this product is left for a while it seperates and all of the colour travels to the top of the bottle so give this a strong shake before use.
I am rating this 5/5 as it's got a gorgeous scent, works well for my hair and is a very reasonable price and I'd highly recommend it.4
*I know the word glossy is spelt wrong just in case anyone felt the need to call me up on that...
I bought this having received some Schwarzkopf vouchers from them as a token gesture after resolving a problem with a product. I know the Schwarzkopf hair dyes are said to be quite good and I had heard that this was a good quality range and I liked the sound of the name Gliss.
It comes in a pale pink bottle with a brown base with a flip lid on the bottom so all the product drains down which is handy. On the front is a pink pearlescent sticker with the details of the conditioner on including the promise to transform brittle and dull hair into hair as smooth as silk. The bottle is small, just 200ml and I only saw the one size which is a shame as if you are long haired and use it every day like me then you will get through a bottle pretty quickly.
From seeing the bottle I wxpected it to be similar to L'oreal's Nutri-gloss so I was surprised when the conditioner came out just a matte white rather than the pearlescent pink I had expected. It didn't spread out as easily as my Tresemme but was easier to use than my Aussie products though I did have to use a fair bit to cover all my hair so you may end up re-purchasing quite often. In terms of smell it was lovely, fresh with a hint of sweet rose and reminded me of the way my hair smells after they wash it at the salon using the professional stuff.
When I used it it left my hair smelling great and it felt very manageable. It felt really nice when I ran my fingers through it and noticeabley soft. However, I found it did not deliver on the big promise of gloss. My hair didn't look any less shiny than normal but nor did I notice any increase in glossiness. This was a shame as I felt other than that it was a good product. These can be bought in Superdrugs and Boots stores for just under £2.
During a trip to Poundland a few weeks ago, I found myself in search of a new conditioner. Much as I love my Soap and Glory Hair Supply conditioner, it is just too expensive to justify using it on a daily basis. I'm not entirely sure why I found myself reaching for a bottle of Schwarzkopf Gliss Liquid Silk Gloss Conditioner. I seem to recall at the back of my mind having read rave reviews about the Gliss range as a budget range of hair care products that is on a par with the big designer brands. But if I'm honest, it was probably the pearlescent label and pink packaging that I decided wouldn't look obtrusive in my bathroom when sat next to the seemingly infinite selection of pink Soap and Glory products. Whatever my subconscious reasoning was, the Liquid Silk Gloss Conditioner found its way into my basket and took pride of place on the edge of my bath.
The bottle is plastered with promises and scientific claims to repair inside the hair cell and leave brittle, dull hair as smooth as silk. My hair isn't particularly dull or brittle but I suspect that's due to a rather lengthy and arduous daily hair care routine and I was more than happy to take all the help I could get to tame my frizz into glossy curls. To be honest, I didn't hold much hope for this conditioner but I hoped it would do a good enough job on a daily basis whilst I treated my locks once a week to an intensive treatment with my more expensive Soap and Glory conditioner. However, the first time I used the Liquid Silk Conditioner, I was blown away by the results.
Applying it is easy and no different to any other conditioner on the market. It has a thick white creamy consistency and lathers very slightly when applying it to the hair. The smell has a slight hint of almond and coconut but isn't particularly noticeable and on rinsing, my hair simply smells clean. The look and feel of my hair though was the factor that has made this conditioner a new favourite in my bathroom. Even as I rinsed the conditioner in the shower, I could feel that my hair was softer. When it came to combing it, the tangles slid out easily and there was a noticeable sheen to my hair which became more intense as it dried. My hair feels soft and silky to touch and looks in fantastic conditioner. I still treat it to a weekly intensive conditioner treatment but I suspect this is a mere Placebo as the Gliss conditioner appears more than capable of keeping my hair in tip top condition.
The RRP for a 200ml bottle appears to be around the £2 mark but the Gliss range does seem to be a staple on the shelves of Poundland and other discount stores so it's a very reasonable buy. I have just stocked up on more and have grabbed a bottle of the shampoo to sample as well this time to see if I can achieve even better results. If you've read my review about Soap and Glory's Hair Supply conditioner, then you'll know that I raved about it. This Liquid Silk Gloss Conditioner is certainly on a par with the Soap and Glory conditioner, perhaps even better and at just £1 a bottle, it's an absolute bargain if you ask me.
My hair can best be described as 'straw-like' when I wash it and do not use any conditioner. It is prone to be very dry and frizzy. Therefore, I am always on the lookout for good conditioners at a reasonable price. I came across Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Liquid Silk Gloss Conditioner for just £1 in Somerfield. It was on special offer. So I decided to put it to the test!
The claim on the bottle was that the 'gloss formula with elements of liquid silk and a gloss enhancer gives suppleness and breath taking shine'. It sounded good to me - just what I wanted... It also stated that the Gliss cell repair system contains proteins that are identical to the hair itself and is able to repair the hair from within.
I applied the conditioner following the directions on the bottle ie apply after shampooing and massaging gently into the wet hair and then rinsed it thoroughly.
I was very pleased with the results. After using the conditioner my hair did feel much softer, more supple and with no frizziness. However, I am afraid that it did not leave a 'breath taking shine!!!
Nevertheless, I would recommend that anyone with dry, curly or frizzy hair give this product a trial - especially when it is on offer..
