Advantages: tames ends

Disadvantages: harder to style

I am always on the lookout for hair products to tame my frizz and keep spilit ends under control, so anything with the word 'repair' in it always catches my eye. As someone with coloured hair I need a shampoo and conditioner to keep it in check and keep the condition salon fresh.

I chanced upon this a few weeks back and decided to give it a shot, as it was offer at the time. Schwarzkopf is not normally a make I would plump for, I tend to stick to John Frieda, Tigi or Pantene so I was initially dubious.

The packaging:

Comes in a plastic bottle with a flip top lid. This stands quite well in the bath or shower and there is no problem with leakage.

What is it:

A conditioner which claims to turn your tired straggled hair into gloosy healthy tresses.

The test:

I did a regular shampoo, taking care to rinse out all traces and follow with a blast of cooler water. I then took a dollop of this stuff, about the size of a ten pen piece and worked it through from root to tip. The conditioner rubs in well. The consistency is a little gloopy, but it is not runny. It is easy to work into the hair and less is often more with conditioner.

There is a scent, nothing too overpowering. I was picking up light floral fragrances. The conditioner is billed as liquid silk. I would not say it feels like silk, but then what does wet silk feel like? It does have a creamy lightness to it though and if you run your hand through the hair, you will notice it feels very smooth, even at the wet stage.

I rinsed it out after a minute and blotted dry with a towel before following up with a blowdry.

The results:

I was pleased to see that the conditioner had actually helped with the split ends. I could feel that the cuticles had been smoothed and felt tamer. The only issue I take with it, is that it made the hair harder than normal to style, as the hair lakced oomph, which made my fringe quite flimsy.

Conclusion

You can pick up a 200ml bottle for about two to three pounds. It is best used in conjuction with the shampoo. I did feel a difference, so maybe one to consider if you have dry hair and fancy changing products for a week or two.

Summary: not bad
