Advantages: Inexpensive and effective conditioner

Disadvantages: None

**The Problem**

After my holidays with the punishing effects of drying UV rays, salt, chlorine, sand, sea- salt and highlights, my hair was in a real poor state of repair. (It is very dry and often brittle at the best of times). As a result I was eager to find a conditioner that would help me to address the problems but not prove to be too expensive...

**The Solution?**

Whilst shopping in Morrisons I came across Schwarzkopf's 'Gliss' range of products. I noticed one called 'Total Repair Conditioner'. The price in the supermarket was £1.79 for a 200ml bottle. However, as it was on a 'buy one get one free' promotion I decided to try it.

The claim on the bottle was that it was able to repair hair damage. It said that the conditioner had been especially formulated for the repair of dry damaged hair and that not only does it repair the surface of the hair but works inside the hair shaft to re-construct the hair fibre.

Furthermore, it claims that Gliss only repairs where it is most needed without over-treating healthy areas or weighing hair down nourished healthy hair. It also says that it only works on the damaged areas and doesn't over-treat healthy hair so it doesn't weigh the hair down.

It says that 'Total Repair 19 is a complex of 19 repair ingredients in one formula, with intelligent 'scan repair complex'. It maintains that the 19 ingredients in the conditioner 'identifies the needs of your hair' and use of the product results in up to 95% less breakage'.

These claims sounded good but were they believable? I decided to put the claims to the test...

I applied the conditioner following the directions on the bottle ie apply after shampooing, massage in and then rinse thoroughly. The conditioner was delicately and pleasantly fragranced. It was white in colour and very thick and rich in texture. When i applied it, it did 'feel' as though it was providing some nourishment for my hair...

**The Results**

After using the conditioner my hair felt much softer and shinier...it was more supple and yet not weighted down in any way. However, I could not really determine whether my hair was repaired from within though!! I guess that would need some sort of 'scientific' experiment to test that claim.

Overall, I would thoroughly recommend that anyone with dry, curly or frizzy hair give this product a trial.

What were the 'special ingredients' then?
