**Introduction**

I love all beauty products and though I am a huge fan of french beauty company Yves Rocher I am certainly not brand loyal and will try anything that takes my eye. I live quite close to a Superdrug store and when I popped in there a week or so ago for some shampoo I ended up spending far more money than I had anticipated as they had selected products at less than half price. An offer too good to miss..especially as there were a lot of branded products at less than £1!

One such item I picked up was this - Gliss Hair Repair Shine Tonic by Schwarzkopf - which my review will now concentrate on.

**What Schwarzkopf Gliss have to say about this**

"....If you have dull or coloured hair the formula protects and provides tangible suppleness and shine..."

**Directions for use**

Aim the can and spray evenly onto your finished style in short bursts and avoid contact with the eyes at all times.

**Price, packaging & availability**

Gliss comes housed in a cylindrical aerosol can which holds 100ml of product. The design is quite basic and sedate with the colouring of the can being cream and beige and the logo in a bold dark font, and to be honest there is nothing flashy or overly fancy about the packaging so it may not necessarily catch the eye. As I've bought Gliss products many times in the past I know what to look for so don't need any 'glitzy' packaging to lure me into trying their products luckily.

I purchased this recently from Superdrug as previously mentioned where it was on sale as part of a beauty sale and cost just 94p. I have used this product many times in the past though will openly admit I probably wouldn't have bought it on this occasion had it not been so cheap!

Gliss products are part of the well renowned Schwarzkopf brand and are readily available at places such as Superdrug, Boots, independent chemists and online shops. I have mainly bought Gliss products from Superdrug which has a large selection of other products in the range though can't comment on other stores stocks as I tend to stick to Superdrug.

**My experience of using this product**

Although I am a natural blonde, these days I have to give my hair a helping hand by either having highlights or by colouring it at home as it's naturally dulled over the years (not to mention the grey hairs that have been appearing since I hit my thirties) and because of this my hair sometimes lacks lustre and shine.

I always tend to opt for more premium shampoos and conditioners to help maintain the health and look of my hair but sometimes find that although they leave my hair feeling silky it still lacks that glossy sheen I'm after so products such as this are a must for me.

Gliss Hair Tonic is easy to use and what I love about it the most is the fact it's in an aerosol form and disperses well when applied to the hair. I have found the best results have been gained just after shampooing/ conditioning my hair when it's just been dried and styled then I aim the can about 15cm away from my hair and proceed to spray. There is a large button on top of the can which features an integrated nozzle underneath and though the hole is quite small once the button is pressed I find that the hair tonic emits in a fine mist which covers a large area.

The Hair Tonic has a very gentle fragrance and though it's pleasant enough it is very subtle so is difficult to detect. As mentioned I have used this product many times in the past and I'm sure it used to smell far stronger though the scent these days seems to have diminished significantly.

**Results and Recommendations**

The big question has to be is it any good?

Well I can honestly say I wouldn't keep buying it if it didn't have some effect on my hair and I have tried and tested many 'hair shine' products over the years that all make huge promises and end up not making any difference to my hair at all. I have always found Gliss Hair Tonic to be consistent in giving results and even though it seems to have lost it's beautiful aroma it would still be my number one choice for a hair shine product.

It's ease of use is what draws me to this product as once sprayed onto the hair it almost disappears into the hair follicles and doesn't leave any sticky residue in it's wake. It's a a 'dry' product as well and doesn't leave my hair feeling damp so doesn't need to dry and because of this the results are almost instantaneous and my hair definitely exudes a definite sheen. My hair always feels softer when I've used this product and because there is no stickiness it doesn't need to be combed out or even washed out as it simply absorbs into the hair.

I probably wouldn't have purchased this product when I did had it not been so cheap but that is only because I'm currently using a different brand of hair shine tonic at the moment though I have to admit that Gliss is far superior to anything else I've used and would definitely recommend it to add a bit of shine to dull hair.

5/5

Summary: A lovely hair product that does what it says
