THE PRODUCT: I have very fine, flat hair and I am always looking at different ways to get some volume into it to make it look a little bigger and less flat. I use a styling mousse or spray on my hair but I need a good hairspray that is going to keep the volume in my hair. This plumping hairspray claims to give you that push you need to flaunt that show-stopping big volume. This hairspray sounded just like the product I was looking for and it sounded a lot better than what any other products had to offer. The hairspray comes in a bright pink can so looks very girly. The can is quite large so it's not really suitable for popping into your handbag. It would fit into an overnight bag or small suitcase easily though.
PRICE: You cna purchase this from Boots and Superdrug. Prices may vary slightly but it costs £4.07 for a 300ml can from Boots. The schwarzkopf hair styling range is currently on offer in there in 2 products for £5.00.
IN USE: To use the product hold the can approximately 30cm away from the head and spray generously. Use th hairspray in short bursts. To give my hair some extra volume I sometimes turn my head upside down and spray the hair. I find that this always helps to give it a good amount of extra volume. I also use the hairspray on my finished/groomed style to ensure that my hair stays looking great. I often have to use this on the part of my fringe which I am trying to tame to one side at the moment.
The hairspray doesn't smell as strong as some others I have used in the past. The hairspray doesn't leave my hair feeling stiff or sticky and it doesn't leave a residue in my hair either. I find that this spray helps to keep my hair looking great all day, although I sometimes apply a little more, later on during the day or if I am going out in the evening. I found that this product brushes out of my hair quite easily and the following day my hair didn't appear to feel greasy or looked like it needed washing.
OVERALL: A great hairspray that I have been using for at least a year.
I recently started to use Got2B 2Sexy spray mousse which I absolutely love. I have very fine hair – and not a lot of it – so any product that helps make my hair more manageable and look thicker is a winner in my book. I needed a new hairspray and on a recent trip to Boots, I spotted the Got2Be 2Sexy spray so I thought I would give it a try.
It promises a lot – ‘the push up or root boost you need to flaunt that sexy, show-stopping big volume hair!’ Well my hair is only going to have show-stopping volume in my dreams but I do think it is a step up from other hairsprays I have used. And so it should at 4.07 GBP for 300 ml which is a lot more than I usually pay for hairspray.
The directions for use are pretty standard: Hold can 30cm away from head and spray generously for x-tra plumped up styles. Use in short bursts. If sprayer clogs, run under hot water.
Like the spray mousse, there is a definite whiff of raspberry as you use the spray. It’s not so strong as the mousse and I find the fragrance quite pleasant. More importantly, the hairspray does work. I use fairly sparingly but I find it really helps to hold my style all day. It seems to make my hair look more glossy so it’s almost like a finishing spray.
I have to admit that I don’t always follow the instructions. For everyday use I tend to spray all over in one long burst after I have completed my styling. This gives a natural looking result. My hair feels quite soft but it does stay in place and the volume I have lovingly created lasts. When I’m going somewhere special and really want to make an effort then I do spray section by section in short bursts. This comes near to getting the effect that previously only my hairdresser can manage which I think it pretty impressive.
Recommended? As you’ve probably guessed, I’m impressed with this hairspray. It gives a great strong lasting holding while still leaving my hair looking natural and shiny. It’s 5 out of 5 from me.
Where to buy?
4.07 GBP from Boots or 407 Advantage points. It’s also currently on offer at Superdrug. Usual price 3.99 GBP but there is 2 for £5 deal on selected Schwarzkopf products.
I bought this hairspray on recommendation from a friend with thin flat hair. I have thick frizzy hair and don't normally need help with volume but I needed a hair spray and this was on offer in Asda. I feel it suits all hair types.
I am so pleased I bought it, nice looking can, a little expensive when not on offer but lasts a long time as decent size.
One of my favourite aspects is the smell! It is fruity but not too sweet and not too strong. I wear my hair up a lot and this hairspray is great for pinning your hair back, it gives a sleek look but doesn't go that weird hard shiny look you get from most heavy duty hair sprays. But it's best qualities is in what it aims to do- volume.
I only need volume when back combing my hair which I do on a regular occasion. This hairspray is great to put on your hair before back combing especially if hair is just washed as it adds texture and stops the hair being too smooth. It is then great to set your hair, I spray on finished bump and then brush gently to make smooth and the hairspray stays in just enough. If I make a mistake the hairspray is easy to brush out and doesn't leave a heavy coating on my hair.
It lasts all day and I never feel the need to keep spraying to keep my hair up.
There are two things I hate about Hairspray. The smell and that horrible, hard, sometimes sticky texture it gives my hair. This Hairspray solves both of these problems for me. As suggested by the title this is what I like to call one of my 'holy grail' beauty products. Since discovering this around two years ago I have never been without it and have brought it into all of my friends lives too!
I have very thick hair and have always struggled to find an appropriate hairspray to suit me as the ones that hold my hair the best tend to be the ones that give it the stiff texture I mentioned earlier, which I absolutely hate! The other thing I mentioned was the smell. By this I mean when I've just had a shower and my hair is smelling lovely, I then have to mask it with the awful generic hairspray smell when I style it!
I first came across this when browsing some beauty blogs and I saw it mentioned that this hairspray has a raspberry scent to it. I thought this sounded quite unusual so next time I was in my local boots I picked one up. It really does smell like raspberries and I have had many people tell me how nice my hair smells since using this! Soon after trying this hairspray I realised it was going to become a staple in my daily hair routine. It does it's job perfectly. It has just the right amount of strength in it to to hold your hair style without making your hair feel stiff or crispy! Instead making it bouncy, voluminous and easy to brush out, which personally is an important factor for me. It really does what it says on the tin.
It's available in Boots, Superdrug, Savers & Bodycare as well as your average supermarket. The only downfall I would say about this is the price of it. It comes in at around £4 for 400ml which is quite steep for a hairspray but you could say you get what you pay for? I am also told it comes in a bit cheaper on Amazon however I find that there are often deals on got2b products in Bodycare and Savers anyway.
Got2B sexy hairspray is meant to add volume and boost to any hair type because of the collagen formula. It provides extra hold for your hair to sort out any hair related mess.
I bought this product when it was on offer in Boots when I was available to buy two Got2B products for £6, but it is usually priced at around the £4 mark. Personally I think this is a reasonable price considering the size of the bottle you are buying and considering that some brands charge a lot more for a similar sized bottle... The size of bottle also drew me to this product because hairspray is one of those items that I don't want to have to continuously replace, I bought this product months ago and I still have about a quarter of the can left! Although I only tend to only use a bit at a time so it may not last as long for those who are quite liberal with the spray...
When buying hairspray I try to find one that smells half decent so that I don't smell like a walking aerosol. Got2B sexy hairspray smells really nice; it has quite a fruity smell to it which tends to remind me of raspberries! So there is no need to worry about whether your hair will smell of god knows what, with this product you will smell fruity fresh!
What I would say about this product is that the formula is quite sticky when you apply it to your hair and can give your hair the appearance of having hairspray in rather than being more inconspicuous. Another problem with the formula is that because it is so sticky it can be hard to brush it out of your hair... Having thick hair myself, this probably doesn't help matters but regardless you shouldn't have to struggle to brush hairspray out...
Also, sometimes this product doesn't always provide the hold that it promises, this may just be because I have thick, shortish hair but half way through the day my hair will start to fall away from how it was in the morning and little bits of hair start to go astray... it may work better on longer hair but obviously I cannot test that...
Overall, this product is ok but not brilliant; the fruity smell is really the only thing I like about it. The product just doesn't seem to be able to deal with my hair and is quite thick and sticky which isn't a nice look for your hair, although as I've said before it may just be shorter and thicker hair that it doesn't work as well on. This product may be more suitable for a night out because in the day it can look a bit thick and sticky but you may be able to get away with it in the dark when you'll be able to apply more... Recommendation wise, I don't think I would recommend and I would probably steer people towards a finer hairspray which would look more natural than this spray.
I have naturally curly hair and so when I recently got a fringe cut in I wanted to buy a hairspray that I thought would make it stay straight and not end up curly or sticking out anywhere at the slight drop of rain or humidity! I went in Boots and saw the 'got2b' range on offer, where this big volume hairspray by Schwarzkopf was half price at £2, usually priced at £4.07.
I had no idea what this brand was like I had only seen it around before and noticed that unless it was on offer it was quite pricey, and so I thought it must be pretty good for that reason and decided to buy it. I like hair products that contain the word 'volume' too as I do like a lot of volume in my hair for a night out, and so I was very drawn to this hairspray.
I first tried this after I had to blow dry and straighten my hair myself, I always seem to need it unlike when I go to the hairdressers and they can perfect my hair without the need for any hairspray to keep it like that! I sprayed this on my fringe and after a quick squirt I noticed that I really didn't need to use that much, it was very powerful and my hair felt quite sticky after a tiny amount was sprayed on it, whereas usually I would spray a bit more. I was very cautious after this as I don't like my hair to be too sticky and feel rock hard as I always think you can tell from just looking at it, instead I would like to use it but still have that natural look and feel. This really made my hair feel quite frozen!
The plus side is that this hairspray really does keep your hair in place and manages to keep my hair reasonably straight. I only use a tiny amount if I need to use this during the day due to how powerful it is, but I use a bit more on my hair for a night out. I love this hairspray for keeping my hair in place for a night out as it really works and I just have to put up with the horrible feel it leaves in my hair then. Therefore, for everyday wear I am going to buy another hairspray that doesn't leave my hair feeling as sticky etc.
This hairspray also smells quite nice unlike a lot of others I have used in the past, it smells quite fruity.
I would recommend this hairspray if you have short hair that you want kept in place (my boyfriend seems to like it!) and also if you ever wear your hair pinned up for a night out I think it would be great at keeping your hair in place all night. However, for everyday wear when I just tend to have my hair down I try not to use this product unless I really need to!
This hairspray is available in Boots, Superdrug and Savers. The cheapest place I have seen it being sold is in Savers where it is £2.49, but it is currently on offer in Boots at the moment anyway where the range has 1/3 off, making this £2.71 for 300ml. There is also got2b sexy volume mousse available if you wanted to use these products together for big hair.
