I like to try out different products for styling my hair every now and then. Got2b Glued Spiking Glue was once in sale and I decided to try this product. The bright yellow tube certainly makes this product stand out from other products in the shelves. The tube is packed inside a grey cardboard box, which states some general information, the ingredients and information about how to use the product.
There is a flip-top lid, which opens very smoothly, and the hair gel can be easily dispended. A tube of Got2b Glued contains 150mL of hair gel, and it obviously depends on the amount you use, but a tube usually lasts around three till fours week with daily use for me.
The hair gel itself has a white colour and is quite thick. I have used a lot hair products in the past that are very watery and just make your hair look very wet. This product however gives your hair a lot of structure and is really strong. A small amount of hair gel is enough to style your hair. The hair gel gets very sticky on your hands, but it can be easily washed off with water and soap.
According to the package, the hair gel is waterproof. Some rain does certainly flatten your hair after styling it. However, it dries and gets hard again very quickly, giving better results than other non-waterproof hairstyling products.
All in all, I am very satisfied with this Got2B Glued from Schwarzkopf. It certainly keeps your hair in place all day and it is much stronger and less watery than other products I have used in the past. I give this hair gel a 4 out of 5 stars rating.
Harry's hair is a big bug-bear for me. He's got very coarse hair and so I don't like it when it gets long because it looks like a mop on top of his head, and love to get it cut short, especially for the summer. However, he and his dad prefer it a bit longer so he can spike it up a bit, so we decided to compromise for his last haircut, and get it cut short round the sides with enough length on top to spike it up if he wants to. I'm really pleased with it and so is Harry, and the hunt for the best hair product to use began. I purchased a gel which was a disaster as it didn't spike anything up and made him look greasy on top. I stumbled across this product by accident when it was on offer in Sainsbury's, and it happened to be perfect so even better!
The product is made by hair products company Schwarzkopf, and is called Got2b Spiking Glue. It comes in a bright yellow tube which is in a cardboard wrapper with the product information on it, and is quite distinctive on the shelf. The packaging claims that it's the number 1 spiking product in America, not something that necessarily swayed me to buying it, but it's an impressive claim nonetheless. It claims that it has Ultimate Hold (number 6 on their scale), and is water resistant, and super tough for spiking hair too. Due to the fact Harry is at school all day, I needed a product that I could put on in the morning and would hold his hairstyle in place for the whole day. This one seemed to be the one that would work, and so we gave it a go for the next day at school.
The tube is one that sits on the lid, so the product is always ready to be dispensed. The lid opens easily, and then you can squeeze the tube with one hand to put the product into your other hand. The glue is white in colour and is fairly thick, and I've found I really don't need a lot to spike Harry's hair up. A technique I saw a hairdresser use on Harry's hair, and one I've now adopted myself is to then use a spray bottle of water, spray the product 2 or 3 times which helps make the product a bit runnier and easier to push through hair. I rub my hands together so they're both coated in the glue, and then run my hands through Harry's hair from front to back, several times until it's nice and spiky on top.
Due to the glue being so thick and white, and Harry's hair being very dark, there are sometimes a few lumps so I just spray it and push it through more again. It then sets quite quickly, after about 5 minutes it's fairly solid and looks really good. I must warn you to be by a sink when you apply this product because the stickiness on my hands afterwards is unbelievable, and it takes a good couple of go's with soap to get it all off, nightmare! However, it looks great on Harry's hair, and he's worn it for several days now and his hair isn't flat when he gets in from school at all. If you do need to freshen your look while it's not fully set, a quick spray and move of the hair should suffice, but once it's solid, that's it for the style really! The product does wash out, but you have to be quite vigorous when washing the hair to get it all out.
Overall, I think this is a fantastic spiking glue for boys who love a spiky look on top of their head, and a look that can last a whole day without bother. It's a bonus that it sets so hard, and is water resistant too, so you won't have the product running down your face if it starts to rain out of the blue! I think our tube of spiking glue is going to last a long time because you really don't need a lot of it, especially if you wet it slightly, and therefore £4 (or the offer price of £2.50 I paid) is great value for money. It's a funky looking product in a funky tube and will be one gracing my bathroom shelf for a long while yet! Recommended.
RRP: £4 for 150ml.

Thank you for reading.
I have had short hair for a number of years now and although it is very short I love to have varying styles to keep my hairstyle fresh and trendy. I love my hair short as it really suits me, but I sometimes have trouble in finding products that keep the style in place. This is due to the fact that my hair is super thick.
I recently had my hair cut into a cropped style which sticks up at the front. My hairdresser has the same style and it looks amazing on her. I was thrilled with the result, but when I tried to create the style the following day, I found it very difficult to keep my hair sticking up. I decided to go to Tesco and see if there were any products that caught my eye.
I was immediately drawn to this bright yellow packaged product from Schwarzkopf. It is labelled as water resistant spiking glue. The info on the packaging explains that even when wet this product will not falter, and will remain to keep your hair in place. I was really impressed with the sound of this product, but more so with the £2 price tag. I felt this was super reasonable and therefore decided to give it a whirl.
The yellow tube in which the spiking glue is stored has a flip top lid. You just squeeze the tube and the glue comes out. I was quite suprised by the actual thickness of the consistency of the product. However, when rubbed into the hands it gives it a thinner texture. This in turn goes into the hair really well and does not look clumpy or leave any residue.
This got to b styling glue is in my opinion fantastic. It is the best product I have yet to come across for holding my hairstyle in place. I actually had someone come up to me on a night out recently to ask me what product I use in my hair as it looked fab. which was a nice compliment.
I have found that with this product, less is definately more. If you use too much you will end up with a sticky head of hair that will look wet and greasy. This product is very effective and so a small amount will offer you a great look. You will also need somewhere to wash your hands after application, as this product is very sticky and leaves the hands feeling tacky.
This product has to be washed out of the hair. It is so strong that you cannot just brush the product out. I find that I have to give my hair a good wash in order for it to go back flat. I think this is excellent though, as many hair products will style your hair for an hour and then give up. But this hair glue has kept my hair in place all day and evening without having to reapply products.
I would most certainly recommend this product if you wish to add texture and choppy effect to your hair. Also this product is equally great for boys with short hair. It's yellow packaging is suited to both sexes.
This product is really funky and sassy. It really does deliver in the styling stakes. I will continue to use this product as in my opinion it is the best styling product for holding short hair into style.
I have long hair so why would I go out and spend money on spiking glue I hear you ask? I mean it's meant for short styles isn't it?! Well on this occasion me and my flat mate went halves on buying a tube. She has a short funked up style that she likes as spiky as possible and me, well I have a fringe now and I want it shaped and spiky looking too. I didn't think for a minute I'd get on with it so that's why I was happy to chip in and try it and if I didn't like it least my mate got it lol.
The tube comes encased (but you can see the front of the tube) in a silver cardboard case. On the front of that there is a picture of a man with spiky hair and I'm told that it is Schwarzkopf 'No.1 Styling Glue....In USA'. Other information listed on the back of the card tells me a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients are listed, the size is stated (which is 150ml in this case) and contact details for Schwarzkopf & Henkel are given. The tube is bright yellow and it has a silver plastic flip-top lid concealing a small hole to the bottom of it. On the front of the plain looking bright yellow tube and in black writing I am told that it is Schwarzkopf Got2B Glued, Water Resistant Spiking Glue '4 screaming hold, spike, chunk, ultimate hold. On the back of the tube other information listed is the same as I've told you that is on the cardboard backing.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Listed On The Packaging:
Wind-tunnel tested! This water resistant spiking glue delivers hold so strong your style will last until you next shampoo. Push through hair to put it in place. Nothing's moving here!
How To Use It:
Use on damp hair. Squeeze a small amount into palms, rub hands together and distribute evenly throughout hair. For over the top spikes, apply to fingertips and pull through hair twisting at the tips.
Cool Tip For Extra Grip:
Slightly dampen tips of spikes and reapply a small amount of glued spiking glue. Gets your spikes super stiff!
Me Using It:
Well I can report really two people using this as me and my mate have discussed it and seen the results this gives on each-other!
Well both me and mate use this on damp and combed through hair. You don't need very much of this sticky white cream at all and although it's rather thick in it's consistency it is easy to squeeze out of the tube and it does get absorbed easily by the hair your trying to style.
It is sticky to work with and for me I only use a really small amount where I want to spike. Its simply a really tiny amount and I twist the product through to define and pike it. Once done my hair has a nice light and fresh and fruity smell to it and it really does get spiked! Those spikes hold till I brush them out too though if I do sleep with spikes in they do fall down but can easily be put back into style with little effort the following day (and a bit of water).
It does however make my feel a little tacky and gives it a wet look, though creates shine.
On my mates hair she simply really dampens her short locks and twists lots of sections of her hair with it. Again it gives wet look spikes and they really do not budge, even in wind and rain. Again though she finds by the end of the day that she needs to brush the product out and re-wash the next day. It's easy enough to brush/comb out the spikes but hair is left not feeling very clean at all though. However washing it out is also easy!
This does exactly what it promises and lasts ages due to the small amount needed per application! Both me and my mate like it and the results it gives but hair does feel grubby after a while which is a downside!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc costing about £3.99 a tube.
