The Pro Styling Heat Protection Straightening Spray, strong hold, is an item from this range specifically designed for protecting the hair against the harsh, drying, elements of the hair straightener. Developed to put a barrier against the heat of the stylers. It boasts: 'Long lasting hold in all conditions'.

The product is contained in a clear, tall plastic bottle with the trademark Schwarzkopf head to the top. It features a picture of a woman upon the front with sleek, styled hair and the Pro Styling logo of a rainbow. The bottle is stylish and professional looking like a product that you would expect to find in hairdressers. It is finished off with a fluorescent candy pink trigger top. It is easy to grip and can be used with one hand because of the useful trigger action. This bottle is an atomizer and not an aerosol which I much prefer and is also much kinder to the environment and the weight is 200ml. It promises to protect the hair from heat damage and is resistant to a heat of 200° C.-

When squeezing and releasing the trigger action of the bottle for the first time you will notice that at the top of the bottle, just beneath the trigger is a small curved piece which you turn anti clockwise to release the trigger action for pumping, then back to straight on position again for securing. The reason that I mention this is that it took me a good ten minutes to work this out as the bottle is so well made that it just looked like part of the design. When you pull and release the trigger, the spray is dispensed in a fine mist which pumps out in a good volume, so be careful not to spray this into the eyes. The fragrance is pleasant and smells like any other normal hair straightener spray, not perfumed, or overpowering just an alcohol smell really, akin to something that would be used on your hair at the hairdresser.


The spray is designed to be used on clean, blow dried hair. To apply you just take a small section of the hair at a time, spray evenly upon it, and then straighten with the irons, and repeat each section until the whole head is finished. Alternately this product can be sprayed straight onto damp towel dried hair and just go through the same process as you would do for dry hair. I found the Pro styling Straightening Spray easy to use and effective as a protector against the heat. My hair looked smooth and sleek after I had used this in conjunction with my GHD's, it also looked nice and shiny and in good condition too. I liked the fact that this spray is totally non-sticky and very light on the hair. I found the price excellent and I was happy all round with the product and will definitely be purchasing this spray again as the price is very competitive and the product is excellent.

Great product! I was very impressed with this heat protection spray. I only bought it as it was on special offer at Boots, about a month ago, 2 for the price of 1 and as we get through quite a lot of hair protection spray I thought this was a good deal for us. It has actually turned out quite a find. The brand I normally buy is quite expensive and quite honestly there is nothing to choose between them. In fact the Schwarzkopf spray is less sticky than my normal choice and much lighter on the hair. So all round this Pro Styling Heat Protection Spray comes highly recommended from me.-
