“ Brand: Schwarzkopf / Spray / Type: Hair Milk „
My little girl has been unlucky enough to inherit my naturally curly hair which I see as a terrible curse as I hate my curls! As it happens I of course think the curls on her look gorgeous and very cute indeed, but they do tend to get tangled - and she can wake up in the morning with her hair in a real state!
As a result I find her curls really need taming. Her hair is now long enough to wear in bunches or a ponytail, so I like to have a bit of help to brush the hair through and smooth the curls a little before tying it up.
I am honestly not 100% sure where I purchased this spray, although I think it may have been in a discount store such as a pound shop, or perhaps in Savers. I can't seem to find it on either the Boots or Superdrug websites so I am not sure if the larger retailers actually stock it or not. But searching online it seems to be widely available from various online retailers, and costs around £1 and upwards.
The spray is supposed to smooth out tangles and has a no tears formula. It's suitable for use on either wet or dry hair. It comes in a bright red bottle with the Smurfs pictured on the front, so very child friendly.
This is very easy to use - simply take off the small plastic cap and use the pump action spray to give a few squirts to unruly little heads! Using this on dry hair, just a few sprays leaves my daughter's hair slightly damp. I then simply brush it through. It doesn't exactly make my brush glide through her hair, but the touch of moisture definitely helps to stop her hair turning into a big ball of frizz, which is what would happen if I brush it normally. Instead it definitely helps to smooth out her curls and allows me to tame her hair in the mornings. And it also has a lovely fruity scent which smells delicious and also makes it great for children. The smell also lingers - I can still smell this on her hair after a full day of running wild at nursery, which is no mean feat!
This works even better for us when used on wet hair. I find that I can then brush through her hair with ease, and when it dries her curls look really lovely and defined without any frizz. This is ideal if she has a special day ahead - a party or visit to the grandparents for example - I can wash her hair in the morning and then style it using this spray to make her hair look more civilised than if left to its own devices!
In summary ...
Overall this is a really nice spray for children. As you need so little it lasts absolutely ages, making it great value. It definitely helps to tame my daughter's curls without any stickiness, and it has a lovely fruity fragrance. However I would say it works best for us when used on wet hair.
I love a good bargain and always on the look for new products for me and my daughter to try out. This Schwarzkopf spray is one of my best recent buys. I was on the look out for a detangling spray for my daughter as her hair tends to become tangled after swimming and having it washed. I was attracted to this product as the brand name is very reputable and my daughter loves strawberry scents. Also the price wasn't too bad at 89p from Home Bargains!
About the bottle
The bottle is red in colour and almost oval shaped - the total contents of the product are 150ml to give you an idea on the size.
There is a spray nozzle on the top of the bottle to dispense the product and there is a clear cap lid to place over the top when not in use. The spray nozzle is blue in colour. The clear top is securely attached to the nozzle at purchase that you need to rip off - which is great as you know it hasnt been tampered with.
The front of the bottle is decorated with an image of 2 smurfs playing in bubbles - and goes on to tell you this is a detangling spray for easy combing. It then gives you the scent type which is strawberry and milk.
The back label then goes on to tell you that it has an anti tears effect - which is a must when you are using this on children - that it soothes out tangles - and has an intensive care vitamin complex - which is great for caring for their hair.
The packaging also advsies there is a total shelf life of up to 12 months.
How to use?
" Depending on the length of hair spray 10-15 times on wet or dry hair and comb through. For best results use 2-in-1. Dermalogically tested "
When I have used this on my daughters hair I use it after its been washed and conditioned and then I dry it in using a hair dryer.
The scent to me is like a very watery strawberry - I have certainly smelled other products which have more strawberry to them. The liquid seems to spray out clear and surprisingly not sticky as you would think.
Well it does exactly as the bottle says - it detangles and makes my daughters hair a lot more managable to brush over the following days. Also it freshens her hair up with a light scent of strawberries - but not overpowering. One thing the makers could do to make this a bit better would be to make the scent more noticable.
Overall a great product for 89p
I had purchased this spray at Home Bargains for just 89p but if you go elsewhere such as Tesco the price tends to go up - currently it retails for around £2.20.
