Fab hair dye in a great range of colours (Schwarzkopf Live)

Advantages: ease of use, affordable price, range of colours

Disadvantages: none that i can think of!

I've been dying my hair for about 15 years now and have used various brands and have found that the schwarzkopf brand is the one I keep coming back to.
I love the variety of unusual shades ( I have tried all the red shades and now use the cyber purple most often) that just aren't available with other brands, and they're so easy to use...
The tubes mix easily together and the applicator is pretty accurate, although the gloves supplied are usually of a poor quailty (I wouldn't say I have fat fingers, but the gloves tend to be a snug fit so I generally use my own latex gloves as I feel I have more control over the dye as they cover my hands better).
Having applied the dye I can usually see where it is I've managed to get the dye on my skin as I use a dark shade and can easily remove it before it stains by using some soap and warm water, but a good idea is to put a layer of vaseline around your hairline and over your ears prior to application to act as a barrier.
I find that it doesn't drip so I've had no little accidents on the carpets while waiting the 30 mins or so.
The tedious part as with any hair dye is rinsing until the water runs clear!
The tube of conditioner smells divine and lasts a good few washes and always leaves my hair feeling really soft and shiney - wish it could be bought seperately!
I don't think using this dye often has damaged my hair in any way (well not to my untrained eye!) and I would, and do, recommend this to friends who have always commented on how happy they are with this brand. I'd much prefer to use this at home myself and pay £4-6 than pay salon prices for what I'd consider to be the same result, and the colour always lasts ages on my hair.

Summary: I love this brand and recommend it to anyone whos wanting to dye their hair at home.
