Advantages: cheap, good coverage, long lasting
Disadvantages: conditioner
I'm going to buck the trend here and recommend this hair dye. I've always been a fan of Schwarzkopf products (ever since I won a competition and they sent me free stuff!) so when I did my monthly hair dye shop I thought I would give it a go. I am not very picky when it comes to hair dye as I dye my hair black, and well, one black dye is pretty much the same as another. The blue/black trend, originally started by Loreal, has extended to most other ranges now so a standard blue/black dye is not hard to find. But after using Loreal on and off for many years I became dissatisfied when they 'revamped the range' making it 'fade resistant' and for the first time ever it faded - quickly. The 'Live' colorant was a fraction of the price of the other brands which seem to have escalated in the past few years, and we all know I'm cheap. The hair dye was a standard application, put it on, leave it half and hour, wash it off - but this is where I was surprised. It usually takes me about 20 mins to rinse the dye off and this must have only taken 5. So half convinced my hair was going to fall out I dried it, but had no problems at all, no fading, no vast amounts of hair dropping out, and have used it the past 3 times I have dyed my hair. My only criticism would be the after colour conditioner, which is much too rich and can make your hair lank. I would suggest only using half if you have short or fine hair. The other comments show that everyone has very different hair that may be more porous or had treatments in the past which makes some hair dyes unreceptive, but I can thoroughly recommend this one for all you persistent dyers out their!
