Advantages: Great selection of shades

Disadvantages: Not enough for those with long hair

Suffering from the occasional orange tint to my hair i often retouch it up with brown shades to go over it. When i tried Schwarzkopf the first thing i noticed was that there wasn't much solution. This can be a problem with hair dye and if you read the small print it tells you that if you have long hair you should buy two bottles - but i think this is a slight discrimation!

My first tip would be, if you have long hair like me then it doesnt hurt to add a few drops of water to the solution, or even spraying your hair with a water bottle first will do the trick, as it doesn't throw off the ph because water is neutral.

The first time i also tried schwarzkoph i felt as though the colour was very 'blocky', unlike some other brands it doesnt work with your hairs own natural highlights so i would really recommend combing through! Dont completely cover every little strand either, this will create a more natural effect.

Finally, perhaps if you are worried about orange tinges to your hair i possibly would not recommend Schwarzkopf as most of their brunnette shades our red based and this in time will fade. However on the whole, i really like the variety they offer and the instructions are nice and simple. The dye also is easily removed from any residual left on the temple with plain warm water and soap. So at around £3.99 its quite good value for money and will last for a good length of time - although the sun can fade it so be prepared if you're off on holiday!
