      Disadvantages

A good hard-working product, and it lasts for ages. Well worth a try.

Heat protection is an essential hair product when using heated styling tools such as hairdryers, curling tongs or straighteners. This is a spray-on liquid, available in 200ml bottles. The clear packaging is simple but practical and it allows you to easily see how much product you have left. The large pump handle spritzer is hardwearing and easy to use.

The info printed on the bottle is simple and says exactly what you need to know:
+ Use with straightening irons for safe, straight and smooth styling
+ Protects hair from heat damage - heat resistant up to 200 degrees C
      Recommended directions for use:
Spray directly onto individual sections of clean, blow-dried hair and use straightening irons to finish. Alternatively, spray onto damp hair before blow drying and finish with straightening irons.
Schwarzkopf also felt it necessary to provide helpful advice such as:
Do not spray into eyes. (!!)

The fluid itself is nothing exciting to look at, it's clear and will not show up on hair other than making it look a little wet directly where you have sprayed. It has a heavy chemical smell with a slight floral hint, not too appealing but you can't smell it on your hair after it's dried out. It feels very sticky when you spray it on, and it helps to hold the bottle at a fair distance from your head so that the product is more evenly distributed. I also find it helpful to brush the liquid through the lengths of my hair before using the straighteners.
Again, it feels sticky when running the straighteners through sections of hair and the plates don't run smoothly down the entire length. I have to re-do each section a couple of times to get it fully straight. This does become easier as the liquid dries.

Once I had finished my hair felt lovely and smooth, and even softer than it did after washing and conditioning. My hair stayed flat and straight all day, and even on the following morning it was still mostly in shape, apart from a kink where I had pushed my hair behind my ears, it just required a little touch up and I was impressed that it lasted so well.

It is different to other heat protection sprays that I've used previously, as it seems to have a thicker consistency and makes the hair clump a bit while still damp. I have even managed to use it as a substitute for gel-spray when I needed some extra hold after styling, it did a reasonable job but looked quite rigid and went greasy afterwards.

The plastic packaging can be recycled after use, keep it green!

I bought this product about 6 months ago when I decided that I was no long going to subject my hair to the heat abuse I had been previously putting it through! My hair was getting to the point where it would look similar to when you pass a ribbon through a blade of scissors? (If you love craft you know what I am on about...) and I needed a heat protection spray so that I could continue straightening my hair (which coincidently is one of the things I need to do everyday to survive through the day...) My hairdresser had recommended me another brand called Joico or something along those lines but I decided not to go with this product as it was very expensive and I was looking for something more economical!

When I saw it in my local Boots store I was happily surprised by the cheap price- only £3 for a spray bottle of 200ml- which has only just run out and considering I have shoulder length hair and use it every day that is brilliant! The application of the product is really easy, the trigger spray top, similar to ones that you would see on house hold cleaning products is great as it means it is really easy to squirt out and I only need literally 2-3 squirts to cover my hair. The rest of the packaging is admittedly cheap tacky plastic but this doesn't really matter and as it is completely clear instead of being a block opaque colour, you can easily see how much you have left to use instead of having to shake it around and hold it up to the light etc... ( I have done this in the past...)

Another great thing about the applicator is that for some reason you can spray it upside down and sideways and it still comes out just the same! Which is really helpful when you are spraying those hard to get to bits of hair (especially if you have very thick or very long hair)

The spray is clear and looks pretty much like water, it has a slightly clinical smell but its not strong at all so its not a problem. I sometimes spray a little perfume onto my hair afterwards which gets rid of the smell although it is only faint anyway- (but the perfume trick definitely does work and releases the nice smell from you all day which makes it long lasting compared to spraying on your skin!) Another slight problem is that I sometimes accidentally spray it too much on the roots as it sprays out quite a lot of product at once and it is sometimes hard to aim exactly where I want it. This means my hair looks greasy and it does not evaporate as I cannot get the straighteners to the roots.

However, overall I would say this is a brilliant product and for the price I would still definitely recommend it to other people! It definitely saves your hair from the frazzle of heat related styling!!

A good product to have on your shelf at home to keep your hair protected against heat!

I brought this product from super drug if i recall correctly around 3 months ago. I have a quite annoying mixture of hair (mainly curly with with long straight bits) hair dressers in the past have been quite astounded by it! So occasionally I will use hot curling tongs to keep it all curly ( say for a night out) I decided after curling it a few times without protection that I noticed my hair felt quite dry/straw like so my hair dresser recommended a heat protection product. This product has served me very well the first night I used it I instantly noticed that it did not have that horrible really sticky gooey texture as some products do. It was easy to reach all my hair as the spray bottle is light and has quite a nice even amount of product distributed when you press the trigger where as in the past I have used products which some times squirt out a lot or just a little a little without a inbetween amount which can be quite annoying and make one side of your hair look flat!
This pro styling spray is also quite cheap to buy and you can get it from most stores including online stores for example boots/superdrug/Asda.
The only downside to this product is you tend to need to use quite a few sprays worth to get its full effect (i have shoulder length semi thick hair) other then that it makes a great product worth keeping on your shelf!
