Schwarzkopf Seah Hairspa Beauty Sleep Night Mask (30ml)
I bought this hair masks rom cheapsmells.co.uk and it was very cheap - I hadn't tried anything from the brand before really so I didn't know what to expect. The image above is incorrect.
- Product description (from amazon.co.uk)
"Rich gel formula repairs damaged internal structure overnight. Amaranth Oil precisely replenishes without overburdening. Marine Collagen restores natural elasticity and reinforces the hair structure. Strengthens over-processed hair. Provides a beautiful shine and weightless suppleness. Also suitable for fine hair types."
- About the product
The hair mask I have is the small 30ml size and it comes in a plastic container with a screw top lid that covers another section of plastic over the mask itself. A very small folded piece of paper is placed between the two plastic covers which states the instructions of use - this is very brief and in various languages. The product does contain parabens but it also contains keratin - not so good ingredients mixed with good ingredients.
- Using the product and results
I have been using this mask on and off for the past three weeks now - I use it once a week so it does last a while. The mask is white in colour and one of the worst and most pointless additions to this product is...glitter - yes, it is a hair treatment mask that contains glitter. I have no idea why this mask contains glitter as I would apply this mask and then go to the shops etc, I don't see the point of the glitter and it does get all over your hands as you apply the mask. Each time I use this product I use about a ten pence size amount and that is more than enough really to generally cover the ends and midlengths of my hair even though my hair is long and fairly thick - a little goes a long way with this product, in my opinion - also you wouldn't want to apply a lot of this product anyway due to the glitter and the horrible scent. This product is one of the most smelling beauty/hair products ever! The scent is a mix of plastic, playdoh, chemicals, cleaning liquids and rubber - with a slight fishy scent, it is just disgusting in my opinion. The scent and the glitter don't set this product up to be a winner, if I am honest!
The mask doesn't take long to apply and massage slightly into the hair; I then twist my hair up into a bun. I have to wash my hands numerous times with a scented soap from Lush to try and get rid of the horrible scent from my hands but it still isn't enough. After I have washed my hands at least three times with a scented soap and scrubbed my hands roughly with a towel to dry I can still smell the mask on my hands! I apply the mask in the morning and I leave it in all day and wash it out in the evening so the mask has a while to work; I wouldn't advise you to apply this mask at night and leave it because of the scent with will transfer. I then wash the mask out with water then shampoo and condition like normal - the scent of this mask does transfer to my hair unless I use an incredibly strongly scented shampoo (that also smells horrible) such as the Neutrogena coal tar shampoo. This mask is easy to rinse out and apart from the scent it doesn't leave any residue. Once my hair is dry I don't really see any effect of this product, positive or negative. The mask doesn't do anything more than my regular conditioner would!
- Price and availability
I bought this 30ml mask from cheapsmells.co.uk and at the time it was no more than £2 which is why I bought it - I had my hair colour corrected at the time I bought this and I needed a few hair masks to help my hair recover, so to speak. This product can be bought from: Amazon.co.uk for £7.25 for 30ml which is far too expensive in my opinion.
*Easy and quick to apply/rinse out
*Cheap when on sale/offer
*The scent is just disgusting and really strong too - I can smell it in my hair throughout the day and the scent transfers very easily to my hands
*Disproportionately expensive for what it is and its almost non existent effects
*Not widely available (although this is probably a good thing!), contains parabens
*Doesn't do anything more than a cheap conditioner would do - nothing special at all!
Thank you for reading my review
Summary: A horrible product, in my opinion and I do not recommend it
