Advantages: Price, Lovely fruity and floral smells, A bottle will last ages if you're sensible with it! lol

Disadvantages: If you're 'blessed' with greasy hair it will go lanky after using this for any length of time, Can be difficult to rinse out if you use too much

I've found a brilliant shampoo and just had to write an op about it. I found the matching conditioner too so expect an op on that too! OK, this shampoo is made by Schwarzkopf as part of their Supersoft range and it's a Balancing shampoo. It's 'officially' made for normal to combination hair and while I've not got combination hair, because I'm growing out my fringe I've found that my hair seems to be getting limp as it gets longer. This is wierd though, cos my hair is very long anyway and it's only my fringe that gets limp and ever so slightly greasy - I think it's because my fringe is at such a bloomin' awkward length now I'm forever having to push it back into place. Any suggestions on what to do with a fringe that's halfway grown out would be greatly appreciated....... :o) On with the op.

oOoOo THE BOTTLE oOoOo

The bottle is an oblongish shape with rounded corners and is the most beautiful baby pink colour I've ever seen. The Schwarzkopf name and logo (a womans profile) and the word 'Supersoft' is at the top of the bottle in purple letters bordered with gold. Underneath this you're told this is balancing shampoo with 'revitalising extracts of grape' - sounds nice. It tells you it's for normal to combination hair to 'rebalance and protect.' Turn the bottle round and you've got enough words to print your own dictionary! I won't bore you with all this, but basically it gives you an ingredients list, directions (I think we all know how to use shampoo, don't we?), contact details and the warning 'Avoid contact with the eyes. If this occurs, rinse immediately with water.' Now this warning bothers me slightly. Are there people when they get shampoo in their eye's who leave it to sting for a couple of minutes before they rinse it out? I don't know about you but as soon as I feel shampoo starting to even run BY my eyes I grab the shower and
rinse for all it's worth! lol

Supersoft Balancing Shampoo is apparently enriched with extracts of grape and is pH mild to gently clean and care for your hair.' (I have to look for pH mild shampoo's as I wash my hair everyday and harsh shampoo tends to make it look dull.)

The top of the bottle is a slightly darker pink and has a flip top cap in the middle.

oOoOo THE SHAMPOO oOoOo

Opening the bottle, a lovely fruity scent comes out - not a strong smell but pleasantly 'there'. There's also a slight floral scent there but you have to sniff the top of the bottle before you can smell this. Pouring a bit into my hand I notice the shampoo is quite thin so you have to be careful you don't lose half of it as it runs between your fingers into the bath! It's also got quite a sticky sensation to it. The shampoo matches the bottle perfectly in that it's the same lovely pink colour.

When I wash my hair I like loads of suds and having long hair tend to have to use a big squirt of shampoo to get anything like a decent lather. Not so with this one. A word to the wise - if you use a huge blob of this shampoo you'll be rinsing from morning to dinnertime just to get rid of the suds and you'll still be left with a 'scummy' feeling in your hair. This happened to me the first time I used it, everytime I turned the shower off and squeezed my hair to get rid of the water I ended up with yet another handful of soap and trying to get a brush through my hair afterwards was torture! The second time I used it though I only used a small amount of the shampoo, thinking that if I needed any more I'd have to just add it a drop at a time. But I didn't need any more than a tiny blob of shampoo and plenty of water so I could work it up into a lather. As long as you don't use too much the shampoo cleans really well; it gives a good, bubbly lather and rinses out quite well (although this does take
more rinsing than other shampoos I've used). I found it rinsed off better the cooler the water was so if you can stand to rinse off in cold water you'll probably find it a lot easier.

I towel dried my hair and then used a hairdryer on it and as it was drying I noticed it had given my hair a lovely smell and my hair did look nice and shiny. It cleaned my hair really well and left it lovely and soft. The only thing is I found the next morning my hair looked limp and I had to wash my hair again, but I wash my hair every morning anyway so that was no great hardship.

oOoOo WHAT ELSE? oOoOo

This 300ml bottle of shmpoo cost 99p from my local chemist, although I've seen it in most supermarkets for the same price (except for Londis who charge £1.29) and the matching conditioner is also available for 99p. Schwarzkopf do quite a large range of matching shampoo's and conditioners, including Volumising, Moisturising and Nourishing although I've never used them so can't really say anything about them other that they come in the same sort of bottle in varying colours (purple, green etc...).

I'll definately use this again as not only is it great for my hair type, but as you only need to use a little bit a bottle will last me much longer than usual as I wash my hair everyday.

Thanks for reading. :o)
