“ Brand: Schwarzkopf / Type: Hair Mousse / What it does: volumizeses, „
Mousse is not a product that I use very often on my hair as I find that when I blow dry it and use mousse it does look lovely however the next morning it tends to stand on end and needs doing on a daily basis. I generally wash my hair daily but there are some days you just want to fling it back in a clip or tie it up and forget about it till the next day. I do use mousse when I go out as I find it holds my hair in better and stops it from dropping throughout the night and looking a bit naff and stuck to my head. Mousse is also essential when curling the hair with heated appliances to set the curl and keep it in without dropping too much.
I don't tend to have a brand of mousse that I constantly use considering it goes a very long way for me and last ages I just tend to get the ones that are on offer. On this occasion I bought the Schwarzkopf supersoft volumising mousse. The mouse comes in a bright lime green tin which immediately catches the eye on the shelf. The tip is grey in colour and resembles any other mousse nozzle. The tin advises that this product is intended for limp, lifeless hair that could be 100% more volumised from the roots.
The tin also advises that this product has an ultra-strong hold with 48 hour volume results that has a non-sticky formula which brushes out easily. This mousse also contains moisturising ingredients that help protect the hair from heated appliances such as hair dryers and straighteners.
To use this mousse you basically give it a good shake and push the nozzle on the top to dispense the foam. I think this foam is a little wetter than ones I have tried in the past as it doesn't form a perfectly foam lump as others do. I use about a golf ball sized amount and apply all over the hair concentrating on the roots. You then dry the hair as usual. When blow drying with mousse you can definitely see that the hair dries easier and holds the shape in which you are drying it and when it comes to straightening it feels like the mousse gives a base for the straighteners to slide over making the hair look even straighter.
Hair holds all night and it does indeed brush out very easily as long as you haven't thickened it with hairspray as I generally do. I must admit that I have tried better mousses than this in the past but overall it is a good mousse that does exactly what it says on the tin and for £1.99 its worth a buy as a cheaper allternative.
Schwarzkopf Supersoft volumising mousse
This is a hair mousse which you put into your hair after washing when it is still damp, and then you scrunch your hair up if you want it to look naturally curly. This probably won't work as well on you if you have naturally flat, straight hair but if like me you have naturally curly hair it is a good idea to use this instead of hair spray which can sometimes flatten my curls out.
The mousse comes in a thin, tall green bottle containing 200ml. There is blue writing at the top telling you it is from the supersoft range and has a soft touch formula to keep your hair feeling soft after you've used it. The description telling you what the mousse is for says: for extra body and demanding hairstyles. The bottle design isn't too attractive and I don't really like the mint green colour but I'm more bothered about the mousse itself which I will talk about now.
I bought this from my local village shop, I hadn't tried it before but it was only 99p so I thought I would give it a try. That was about six months ago and I still use this today. I don't use it everyday but I do use it when I want to leave my hair naturally curly and can't be bothered with the tongs or straighteners.
I find this mousse does exactly the job it says it will. It leaves my hair exactly how I have styled it and it leaves it feeling really soft too, and not dried out how some hair mousses or hair sprays can sometimes leave it feeling. It is formulated to give extra body and texture which I think it does give a little bit of, but not too much, which really is just the way I want it.
To use this: you first shake the can well. Then you turn it upside down and press the lid to get some out, you take about a golf ball sized amount into your palms and apply evenly into towel dried hair. Then you style it however you wish to. I find this really helps to keep my hair in place and stop it coming out of the style I want it to stay in.
I would recommend this to people with curly hair as for me it does exactly what it claims to, and at only 99p for 200ml I think it is a real bargain find and value for money is excellent. The smell of this mousse is also quite nice. I will be buying this again when I run out, if I see it for the same price.
Overall this is a good mousse and does it exactly the job, but it isn't as good as others I have used and the main reason I would recommend it is for the low price.
No, the answer to that question is not ME! However, you can be soft, wavy and thick in seconds if you use this volumising mousse. Well, at least, your hair can. Schwartzkopf is a well known brand name when it comes to hair care and the Supersoft, Volumising Mousse is no exception to their usual high quality. It comes in plain, vanilla, white container with a picture a few stray, ginger hairs on the front. The bottle is shaped in what looks like an attempt to give it a waist and shoulders but that's about it. If you buy products for the look of their packaging this one wouldn't attract you. The scent is pretty ordinary but something about it reminds of that 'chenical type' smell that comes from the products used in a hairdressers. You know, the one that hits you when you first open the door and walk in. It does work very well though. I have dead straight, fine hair, but lots of it so it tends to be flyaway (like the rest of me) and do exactly as it likes, regardless of style or training (again, like me!) This mousse thickened up my hair and gave it a slight wave. Itactually has bounce to it now and still feels soft and sleek. All you do is squirt the mousse onto your hand and apply to your hair. From there you can style as you wish, scrunching your where to give it waves. The mousse is light in texture and doesn't make the hair sticky. It brushes out very easily too. So, if you have trouble taming your hair this product makes life much easier, especially in the morning when you have two minutes to get to the bus stop but you still need to sort out your top knot!
