Schwarzkopf Supersoft Shampoo
by myloh
I'm reviewing SUPERSOFT SHAMPOOS generally, but with specific emphasis on the fruity ones.
They come in great value 400ml plastic bottles.

***WHY I BUY SUPERSOFT ***
Sadly I'm old enough to remember when SUPERSOFT came in one "flavour" only in a little ... sachet.
Being the youngest of 8 children I was forever 'just popping to the shop' for family members on pain of a clip round the ear if I refused,or the occasional financial bribe. My two oldest sisters would send me for a sachet of this shampoo & it would be shared between them in the following routine......first they'd wash their hairs with the basic rubbish shampoo (sometimes just soap) provided by mum. One sister using the bath, one using the sink....then I'd get the job of cutting the corner off the sachet & evenly dividing the luscious contents onto each sister's hands. That way they both benefited from it in that important final wash.
What can I say,we were poor.
Anyway it was thus instilled in me that this shampoo was FABULOUS darling & in truth it really is. I continued the family trend & bought it for myself (hiding the bottle from my bros & remaining sister....MWAHAHA, I'm no fool). It never fails to leave my hair beautifully soft & shining, but here's my gripe....
I don't WANT my hair smelling of fruit...... & SUPERSOFT has become obsessed with fruit....pomegranate,apple,lychee,lime,red berries,strawberry....and even ' superfruits' (just in case they missed any out). I rarely use conditioner because I have really good hair. I prefer to just use shampoo & go. I can't do that with fruity smelling shampoo. I want my hair smelling vaguely perfumed & girly, NOT fruity.
Granted there are other non-fruity ones in their range, but I resent wasting time shunting bottles of fruit based ones aside trying to find a non fruity bottle of my favourite brand. Just when I get used to the bottle colours I need to avoid they change them round !.....NAUGHTY SCHWARZKOPF !
Anyway, just a personal gripe I needed to get off my chest & I'm not even deducting a star over it,because in truth I realise it is my personal issue, not Schwarzkopf's .
Aside from that SUPERSOFT are great shampoos & I've never yet used any of the range that didn't leave my hair in great condition, and if you use a nice conditioner then the fruit smell won't be an issue really.
They don't strip your hair or leave it tacky either ,as some shampoos do and my hairdresser always compliments my hair condition, so clearly SUPERSOFT being my main shampoo is paying off.
I'd totally recommend them .

Schwarzkopf Supersoft Conditioner
by Larrabee
This review is specifically of the Volume Boost Apple scented version of this shampoo. It comes in a dark green bottle the same shape and style as the ones in the Dooyoo image above.
I bought this conditioner as it was cheap, in a pound shop. Its adequate, and I will be using the rest of the bottle but I don't think I'll be ... buying it again.
The conditioner has a nice enough texture, its creamy without being slimy or too heavy and it spread through my hair easily. It does take a bit longer to rinse off than most other volume boosting conditioners but as long as you make sure you get it all out it doesn't leave residue or any stickiness in the hair.
Unfortunately, despite its 'volume boost' promise, the biggest problem with this conditioner is that it doesn't remotely do what it says on the tin. This conditioner doesn't have any volumising effect at all as far as I can tell, even when I use it with the matching shampoo and only ise a tiny amount to make sure my hair isn't too soft or weighed down, I may as well be using any bog standard cheap shampoo. If I want big hair after using this, I have to apply another product after washing and conditioning.
Oh, and erm, it doesn't smell anything like apples either! Read the complete review |
