The other review here gives lots of info on how this product works so I don't want to repeat it but just thought I'd give my experience in case it helps anyone deciding whether to buy it or not.

My hair is naturally blonde and had gone a really light shade over the summer so I decided it would be a good time for a change and had it dyed auburn, first at the hairdressers and about 3 more times at home with permanent dyes. The first dye went on in October 09 and the most recent one was in January, so it wasn't a fresh dye job but was a slightly faded mid-auburn. For this reason I wondered if the product would work on my hair, but after giving it a go it has!

I found this on the shelf in Boots, near the permanent hair colours. The process of application is easy enough especially if you are used to using home hair dyes. Got to agree with the other review about the smell though, it's a bit nasty! I put a plastic shower cap over my hair once I'd applied it to keep it warm and stop it dripping (the instructions warn you to not to use it in a cold room or draft as it won't work as well). Had no reaction or stinging while the product was on.

After repeating the long rinse and buffer part, I was starting to worry nothing had happened as the lather was rinsing off white without any red/brown colour going down the drain but as soon as I looked at my hair I could see it was lighter.

End result - a golden, very light brown without any red tones. I am happy with the colour, it's near enough to my natural colour to not need dying again and all the red tones have gone. Condition of my hair feels no different to before but I plan to give it a good deep conditioning treatment tomorrow. Obviously it has not removed every trace of dye used over the last few months or I would be back to light blonde but it has done a very good job and has meant I didn't have to use harsh bleach to get back to blonde.

Overall, I am very pleased with this product, if only it had been around in my teen years when I had lots of colour disasters! Well worth the money, especially compared to what you'd pay in a salon.
