Advantages: Removes colour

Disadvantages: Smell, price, effectiveness (long-term), leaves hair dry

I used to dye my hair bright red using Live XXL, but then I dyed my hair first brown and then purple using the same brand. The purple was a bit too dark for me, so I decided to use Colour B4 to attempt to remove the colour so I could go back to red.
Firstly, I bought it from Boots, for about £12. It was a bit pricey but I thought if it works, it would save me the hair-damage caused by bleaching it! I read through the instructions which are fairly complex, as it involves particular timings and rinsing, and RE-rinsing, for quite a long time. The product does have a bit of a funny smell, a bit like eggs as I was warned. This didn't bother me so much as the vapour/fumes from the product made me choke and cough a bit (I have never had asthma or anything like that...)Anyway, I finished the application and dried out my hair to see what the colour was like.
My hair was previously a non-descript light brown. It was now a gingery colour, which I actually quite liked. This was apparently due to me using Live XXL red hair dye so much, and straightening my hair as well. Live XXL apparently contains silicon, which melts into your hair when you use heat on it, which I didn't know previously. This means it cannot be fully removed, hence leaving a reddish residue in my hair, turning it ginger!
Also, after using the product, my hair felt quite course and rough, not very nice at all, which was probably due to it 'stripping' the colour out.
I liked the ginger, and left it like that. However, about 2 or 3 weeks afterwards, it changed colour, getting darker and more how it was before. It ended up a darkish brown, which I didn't like so much, so I dyed it red again. The red unfortunately didn't take so well due to the new darkness of my hair.

Summary: Works well but probably not for everyone or every colour
