Advantages: Easy to use, hassle free
Disadvantages: It smells really bad
This stuff smells REALLY bad. I thought mine was off but my friend said that it's meant to smell bad. I would describe the smell as eggy, very VERY eggy!
The box contains a pair of gloves, an instruction leaflet and all necessary bottles. The mix is easy to make up and I found the application process to be pretty simple and hassle free. I have long hair (past my shoulders) so I needed two bottles of this. Each pack set me back £8.99 from Superdrug. It comes in two strengths, normal strength and extra strength. I was recommended extra strength as my hair was very dark at the time.
I left the mixture on for an hour. After many minutes of rinsing and buffering my old black hair was out and my hair was a coppery brown colour. It was a nice colour but I didn't like the copper tone so I went over it with an ash blonde to tone it down a little. The awful eggy smell lingered on my hair for a few days after but using hairspray made my hair smell a little better. The great thing about this product is that it doesn't ruin your hair. Plus you can use it up to three times to achieve the colour result that you want. The product also comes with a conditioner that leaves your hair soft and super shiny. If you use the product a number of times it can damage your hair, like it's damaged my friend's hair. It would be worthwhile using some conditioning treatments to get your back to it's original state.
I found this product easy to use and good value for a colour correction treatment. I was told that very dark shades can turn out a little coppery so I expected that.
A great treatment for unwanted hair colour.
Summary: It works, just don't breathe it in!
