Advantages: really holds your style, great for defining curls and giving texture to the roots

Disadvantages: smell isn't great and it can be a little sticky at first

Shockwaves are know for their 'extreme' hold- and this product is no different! To be fair, it does what it says - it holds your style firmly in place! This is why I can highly rate this product. I used to style my hair in ringlets, but without product they would unravel and frizz up in the day. For curly girls, this product keeps curls defined and tamed.

The spray is very handy and imagine if you were faced with a pot of gel, you can't do much when you have a scoop in your hand! This gel spray means as the push of the pump you can target the area you want and get a light, even spray. For curls, this also means you don't need to touch your curl or run your fingers through or along it, so they are not ruined. It lasts for a very long time, so it's quite hard to remove- you can't comb it out like hairspray.

It is good for the roots when you backcomb them, as it aids to add texture to your roots and keep them lifted. This gel spray works so much better than hairspray, as hairspray can 'freeze' your hair in a position but it is heavy, so drags it down.

This review lost a star because the product is quite sticky and the smell isn't very pleasent. But for a style that truly lasts, this is great!

Summary: Really does what it says on the tin- gives your style extreme hold!
