Shockwaves Ultimate Effects Wonder Gel comes in a nice shiny orange 150ml tube. The strength of the gel is indicated on the tube by a set of notches, this one being 4 notches. I presume this is to make it easy in terms of comparison with other products in the Shockwaves range.

When you squeeze the gel into your hand it comes out as a clear but slightly misty liquid. It appears to have sparkly bits inside as well, like glitter. It is quite thick, it's not runny. The smell is quite strong. It's a fruity smell almost like peaches. To be honest it's quite sickly..

The gel is described as 'lightweight control'. It does appear to be lighter than other gels in terms of weight. You can't feel it as much when it's in your hair. The hold is very good as well and will last all day. If you use it on longer hair it can make it look a bit greasy, which isn't very good. Short hair is fine however. It washes out very easily.

Overall a good lightweight gel with a good hold.

Summary: I good allround gel, which isn't gunky.
