Advantages: Fragrance, nice packaging
Disadvantages: My hair doesn't feel all that clean after using it, leaves hair feeling like it has build up on it
This Christmas I had asked for stuff for my home from my family and friends. Me, well I have plenty of everything and Soap & Glory products are something that for years now I have bought regularly. However I was pleased when I opened one of the gifts from my parents which happened to be the Soap & Glory 'The Case' with a few products within it.....including this product. However I wasn't happy this was in it at all as I have had this in the past and nowadays I refuse to use it!
The tube this comes in is pink plastic and holds 250ml of the shampoo. Like all other Soap & Glory products this has retro packaging and in my opinion is rather nice with a black and white photograph of some lady using this on the front of it and a flip top lid to the the bottom of it. On the front of it we also told that it is Glad Hair Day, ultra-Shine Daily Shampoo and of course that it is Soap & Glory 'For All hair Types' and that it gives no build up 'So you never have to switch'. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told how to use the product and warnings are given, we are told once opened to use it up within 24 months and contact details for Soap & Glory are given. The bottle is a nice squeezy one and looks very nice indeed and I do like the way that it is a free standing bottle too which doesn't tip over or anything so it is functional as well as nice looking this one.
Well to use this of course you simply use it as you would do any other shampoo! Damp/wet hair hair, use a small blob of it (according to the instructions given on the back of the bottle) and then rinse and repeat the process especially if you have greasy hair and there is a Soap & Glory matching conditioner to this if you would like to use conditioner of course though you don't have to or you can even used another brand if you prefer.
The shampoo itself is like a thin runny transparent gel with the usual gorgeous Soap & Glory scent to it which is a wonderful blend of fruits such as peach and some floral top notes and really, really feminine. Its a sweet scent and one of the main reasons I ever first purchased something from this brand in the first place was because of the wonderful aroma it had to it, well this is no different and once you have washed you hair with this scent it will last a good couple of days a least!
So I take a little dollop of this and I massage it into my damp hair and it doesn't lather up well at all so I end up just trying to make sure my whole hair is covered with it the best I can to cleanse my hair. It releases its aroma as I massage gently and it rinses out well enough.
According to the Boots website (where I got mine and got it this time from, from my parents) this is meant to help give shine, protect hair and strengthen it and be a no build up formula....well is it a none build up formula?
No not in my opinion it isn't. My first issue and my main beef with this product actually is that it is called a no build up formula. Well although I use little of this per wash I find it to do exactly what I am told it will not do. Create build up! When my hair is first washed sure it feels soft, sort of clean though the lack of lather isn't that great to be honest but I can't say my coloured hair doesn't appear vibrant. However this is an odd one cos as the day goes on it loses its 'fresh' feeling and the only way I can describe it is that it makes my hair feel damp squib like...matted I guess and lifeless and if I continue to use it past day one my hairs ends go very dry indeed and my prone to greasy roots really do get ready to fry eggs on.
Other that this being a wonderful fragranced product I think this is really not nice stuff! This doesn't sufficiently clean my hair enough for my liking at all and leaves it looking worse than just having dirty hair and at £5.22 a bottle I avoid this one like the plague and would rather buy a Herbal Essence one for a pound a bottle! Not for me this one sadly!
