Advantages: Smells delicious and makes the hair clean

Disadvantages: Doesn't make my hair shiny or strong

I love Soap and Glory products but I haven't tried the hair products yet. This is part because of the bad reviews that I've read and in part because I am faithful to other hair brands. However, recently I was purchasing two Soap & Glory products in Boots and decided to purchase the Glad Hair Day shampoo as part of the three for two offer.

What does the product do?
The product promises to perform the ultimate action of a shampoo which is to cleanse the hair, removing hair products and oils. In addition to this it also promises to smooth the hair making it look shiny and glossy while also repairing and strengthening it. It promises to do so using Raspberry Fruit Vinegar, Panthenol and Glycerin which helps to lock moisture in the hair. It is suitable for all hair types.

How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in the same way as your normal shampoo. It is to be applied to damp hair, massaged into the hair for a few minutes and then rinsed out thoroughly. It is to be followed up with a good conditioner and then dried and styled in the usual way.

Packaging and Price
The shampoo comes packaged within a baby pink plastic bottle which has the usual retro pictures on it. There is an old fashioned picture of a girl smiling and washing her hair and some extra information is on both the front and back. It has a pink flip top lid on which it can stand so it will look neat and tidy on display in your bedroom. The product can be bought for around £5 for 250ml and it can be bought from Boots where it is frequently on offer and also from the Soap & Glory website.

Application
The first thing you notice with this product is the delicious aroma which is what I would expect from a Soap & Glory product. It is very fruity raspberries and it is very sweet and I hoped immediately that this aroma would linger in my hair long after use. The consistency of the shampoo is like a gel and it is clear with a delicate pink tinge. Despite the shampoo having such a thick consistency and the instructions telling you to use a small amount, you actually need to use a generous amount in order to coat the hair properly. It produced a good lather to make you think its doing a good job and it didn't irritate my scalp or make it feel uncomfortable. The fragrance is very evident as you massage it into your hair which makes using this product an enjoyable experience. The product is easy to rinse out with warm water.

Performance
The results with this shampoo were better than I expected but then I wasn't expecting much after reading other reviews. The fragrance stays on your hair just as I hoped and my hair is easy to brush through while styling. My hair was clean after use and it wasn't dried out or in a bad condition. I didn't really notice any of the promised benefits such as my hair becoming glossier or stronger. I also think I needed to watch my hair marginally sooner than I normally. The shampoo didn't any harm to my hair but there are much cheaper and more effective products out there that make this product not worth using.

Conclusion
This is an average shampoo which leaves the hair squeaky clean, easy to brush and smelling delicious. It doesn't perform any of the additional promised actions and so I will keep this shampoo as an emergency substitute to use if I run out of my other shampoo because I expect more from a hair product.

Summary: An average shampoo which cleanses the hair and makes it smell fruity.
