Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None
I do love a good hair conditioner. I usually buy sachets of stuff which can work out really expensive but then I think I only want something rich to use once or twice on my hair a week so it's a treat so what the heck.
One range of products I truly do think an awful lot of is Soap & Glory. I pretty much own most of the range (if not all) but I was really hesitant of purchasing this product to be honest with you. Not just because it costs £5.87 and could turn out to be a costly new habit but I also didn't want to hate something from the range as I really do love everything else so much.
The Packaging....
200ml see through and light pink plastic recyclable tube with matching pink flip top lid situated to the bottom of it concealing a small hole. On the front I'm told it's Hair Supply, Gloss Giving Radiance & Repair Mask, For All Hair Types. Under that there is a photograph of in black and white of a woman ala 60's styly then under that I'm told it's Soap & Glory and the size is stated. For some reason a little of the information I can see on the front of the review photograph is missing on mine but it is definitely the same product! On the back of the tube I'm told how how to use it, a warning is given, I'm told it should 'Leave hair smooth & shiny. Coats & controls Split ends!' Under that I'm given contact details for Soap & Glory and I'm told the product has been tested on a group of UK girls, the recycle symbol is displayed and finally there is a list of ingredients. It really is nice packaging and very retro looking as is all of the Soap & Glory range.
Directions For Use....
After shampooing, squeeze excess water from your hair and apply a handful of 'Hair Supply' massaging from roots to tips. Leave for 60 seconds for a daily smooth, or 3-4 minutes for a more intensive weekly treatment.
My Experience....
Ok. I have read a negative review of this product. I have read on some peoples reviews on the range that they (from time to time) believe this range to be over rated. Well let me tell you I don't know what to say to you to make you go out and buy this!
My hair is just past shoulder length. It's hair that doesn't know if it it's curly or straight and for that reason I have frizzy hair. Although it's frizzy I have (according to my hairdresser) fine hair and it is prone to greasy roots, broken hairs (at the scalp in particular) and dry ends that grate against my shoulders from time to time. I look after my hair with regular trims but I am guilty of bad mistreatment in the form of that I do use home hair dye kits to dye my hair jet black and I do straighten my hair most days (sometimes twice if I'm going out of an evening and of course that means it's washed twice!). I know I am naughty for doing this, but tis life!
So using it with all these issues I was asking alot from a product so I'm super critical when it comes to reviewing hair care products anyway. With combination hair like mine I'm well aware I'm asking alot and yes my hair is very stressed out at the moment. However I have the dress, new shoes and bag even new make up for New Years Eve and that is why I bought this. I don't want my hair to let me down and look scruffy and dead!
Using this is ever so easy! I use it as recommended on the back of the tube. I wash my hair twice with my normal shampoo and I rinse it well. I give it a comb through and squeeze out the excess moisture before applying about the size of a 2p (maybe a bit smaller) of the creamish coloured lotion on my hair. It squeezes out easily but the product isn't wet, it's moist and looks like a gloop in your hand lol
To the touch on the fingers it feels quite greasy but it really softens the fingers and I really noticed that which filed me with hope! The smell of this is simply divine. I mean really gorgeous and girly. If you familiar with the Soap & Glory fragrance in the original pink range well this isn't just similar, it's totally the same as that and made up of fresh bubbled bergamot, strawberries and mandarin with floral and fruity mid notes, and musk, amber and warm vanilla. To me I always think of candyfloss when I sniff Soap & Glory. It's just very girly but not an immature fragrance and suitable (in my view) for any woman of any age.
So the small amount I have on my hands I stroke through my hair. Yes it does feel a tad greasy but that makes it spread really easily and it coats all of of my hair. I then sit back and relax either with my hair piled high on my head or I have a hair turban (told you I take my hair seriously lol) and wrap it round and again sit back and chill.
Now I don't use this everyday. I don't think it's a cheap product and I really like this as an instant pick me for when my hair feels really dry and lack lustre. So of course if you want to you can use it every day but me as I say I like to use it once or twice a week or if I'm going somewhere special.
Rinsing it out is simple. As you do and you run your hands through it the only thing I can say is that hair 'feels' glossy. It's an odd thing to say but it feels silky smooth, smells amazing and there are no knots or dry bits anywhere.
Then it's up to you. Leave it to dry naturally or use your normal drying methods and/or products. I usually use this as a treatment and give my hair a quick dry with my hairdryer (it is cold and December after all lol) and leave off everything else to give my hair a break.
Results....
Simply the most amazing conditioner I have EVER used. I am absolutely devoted and delighted with it. Hairs a mess? This will sort it. It may look a soft and cute product but it means total buisness and will rage a war on you head....and win lol
Hair looks amazing. Although it feels greasy during application that is completely gone (trust me I know this because I have greasy roots that love any reason to act up) and hair is bouncy and soft and looks really like spun silk. It feels beautiful and the shine and smell? Oh my god! Well I used mine tonight and my Mum commented on how strong and healthy my hair looked and mentioned how shiny it looked too. It's apparent to everyone. I was then standing next to her in the kitchen when she grabbed a handful of my hair and mentioned how beautifully soft it feels and loved the fragrance of it even telling my Step-Dad to take a sniff lol. That fragrance lasts absolutely hours which is a massive plus point for me (I smoke lol).
Overall....
Just really brilliant. Use it every day if you need it. Use it occasionally if your hair is being a pain in the butt. It's a frizz buster without draining the living daylights out your hair with grease. It smells divine but above anything hair radiates health and is so shiny and silk like it's like owning new hair every time you use it. I'm very wary of raving about something so that people can come back at me and say it's rubbish to me but this I'm a 100% confident is fabulous. Everything about it is just amazing. I adore it and find it so very useful. No more hats for me!
Finally I have used this on my hair and then used my usual styling products, straighteners and heated curlers and hair still is amazing. Use it any way you want for instant hair health benefits!
