Advantages: Simplicity to use, works well, excellent value for money compared to sachets
Disadvantages: None for me
I was in Boots yesterday with my niece and sis-in-law when we happened across an offer of five free mini products when you purchased soap and glory products to the value of £12.00. Although my niece and I have cupboards heaving with beauty products and had received more for Christmas we were determined to find something to buy to get the free gift. We couldn't really merit spending £12.00 each so ended up clubbing together she got the body butter and I got the Ifoam shower gel and then we split the mini products between us.
I snaffled the hair supply deep conditioning treatment and the mini body butter and off she went with I think it was bubble bath, flake away and shower gel. Probably about £10 worth of gift.
The mini hair supply is 50ml which is ½ the size of the full sized product which retails at around £5.87.
- - The Claims - -
Gloss giving radiance and repair mask for all hair types which leaves hair smooth and shiny which coats and controls split ends - Strong claims indeed.
- - Using it - -
I had a quick read of the back before my shower and was delighted to discover that all you had to do was shampoo, squeeze out the excess water and massage a handful of hair supply from root to tip. No heating a little tube in a glass of hot water (which I always forget to do until I'm just about to get into the shower) and no running around wrapping hot damp towels around your head for an hour.
I spread some of the quite thick white cream over half my palm and when I first began to apply it I thought it wasn't going to be anywhere near enough to cover all my hair. Once it had made contact with the hair the consistency of the cream changed to feel like an oil and it spread out really easily. I found this a little worrying as when I had finished applying it and touched my hair it felt as though I had emptied a bottle of johnsons baby oil on it. I began to have nightmares about getting the stuff back off.
You can choose to use this as a normal conditioner and leave it on for a minute or you can leave it on for 3-4 minutes as a more intensive weekly treatment.
I faffed about for the 3-4 minutes rubbing bits and scrubbing bits, exfoliating and enjoying my new Ifoam soap and glory shower gel and following all this I began to wash the now oily substance from my hair. I was really surprised that it rinsed off so easily, no more rinsing required than with a normal creamy conditioner. I felt my hair and it was really easy to run my fingers through it and I was beginning to have high hopes for a good result.
As the conditioner claimed to coat the hair I wasn't sure whether to put my body shop frizz cream on top of it in case it ended up looking greasy but decided to hedge my bets and put on half the normal amount.
- - Results - -
After towel drying I was able to run a comb through my hair really easily, my hair felt soft and had a lovely scent of what I can only describe as reminiscent of love heart sweets. After using the hair dryer there was definitely more shine than normal but it did look a little fuzzy and thick as I hadn't used as much of the frizz cream as usual. After running through the the GHDs however the result was perfection, my hair actually looked sleek shiny and the highlights looked brighter.
Being honest I have found that the body shop frizz cream does make it shine and straighten well but I had only used a small amount and it was even better than when I used the cream on its own.
On arriving downstairs to write the review no-one commented that I looked particularly gorgeous so I asked my son if my hair looked any better than normal, without prompting he said it looked shinier and straighter so I'll take that as confirmation of my own observations.
- - Conclusion - -
I will definitely continue to use this as a deep action conditioner on a weekly basis, its so simple to use, it works for me, and even this mini 50ml tube will last for months. The only problem is I know I'll be back in Boots buying some more soap and glory products to get the mini products that my niece took.
Summary: I'll be buying this in the full size
