Soap & Glory Hair Supply

Advantages: packaging is cute

Disadvantages: left hair with heavy, sticky feeling

I bought this a while ago when the Soap and Glory range was on sale with a third off in Boots. I wasn't sure whether or not to buy it, as I had read very mixed reviews about it on here, and wasn't sure if it would be suitable for my hair type. With a third off the price however, I managed to justify the purchase to myself!

Hair Supply is an intensive conditioning treatment (or hair mask) and contrary to what I have read, it states on the tube that it is suitable for all hair types. Soap and Glory actually describe this as a 'Super Gloss-Giving Radiance and Repair Mask Treatment' - so there you go! It also says that this has an ultra-light gel formula to hydrate and de-frizz without weighing hair down - again contradicting what I had read about it.

The hair mask comes in a clear tube with pink lid and pink accents, and has a black and white 50's style photograph on the front. The kitsch, retro packaging is one of the things that attracted me to the Soap and Glory range, and this does stand out amongst other, dare I say it, more boring packaging on the shelves at Boots!

You can use the product daily, leaving on 60 seconds for 'a daily smooth' or as a weekly treatment. As I bought this with the intention of using it as a treatment, this is the only way I have tried it. My hair is quite long and thick and as I often over style it I think it sometimes needs a bit of a treat!

Using it is simple, You simple squeeze excess moisture from your hair and then massage this in from root to tip before leaving for 3-4 minutes. The product is a light yellowy colour and smells absolutely gorgeous. I find the majority of Soap and Glory products smell amazing, so I'm glad this one is no exception. It has a beautiful light, sweet and feminine scent which smells almost like a mixture of strawberries and peaches.

After rinsing the product from my hair, it always feels clean and de-tangled, however I find the problems start when my hair is dry. Strangely I've noticed after using this my hair takes ages longer to dry naturally than it usually would, which I must admit is very strange! Also I find that it makes my hair feel slightly sticky - almost as if it hasn't been washed.

Unfortunately I don't feel that this does anything positive for my hair at all. It feels weighed down and heavy as well as having that sticky feeling I mentioned and there is no sign of it being glossy or radiant as had been promised. In terms of appearance I'd actually say it made my hair look dull and lank.

A 200ml tube of this costs £5.87 from Boots, and obviously, given the fact it doesn't work, I think this is too expensive!

So overall, I was disappointed and wished I had listened to the negative reviews that this product had received before buying it. Unfortunately my tube has now been consigned to the dustbin!

Summary: There are better, cheaper alternatives around

This is the one product from the range I really don't like.

A shame, I LOVE all the Soap & Glory stuff I've used so far. Good review. x
