Advantages: Nice smell whilst using
Disadvantages: Didn't moisturise hair, didnt help with tangles, smell didnt last after drying hair
I got this in a Soap & Glory gift set that I got for my birthday. I've had it a few months and only just got round to using it. I try to use deep conditioning masks once a week and have tried a lot of brands. My favourites are ones that moisturise my hair but without weighing it down. I was a bit reluctant to try this as although I thing Soap&Glory are great at making body products, I wasn't sure if they would be quite as good with hair products, and I usually prefer to stick to trusted hair brands.
**Packaging**
It comes in a little 100ml squeezy bottle with the flip lid at the bottom. The bottle is mainly pink including the lid and has an old school image of a girl with big backcombed hair. The writing used it really pretty and the bottle looks cute, girly and old-school,
**My Experience**
The conditioner came out feeling really thick and creamy and was a cream/yellow colour. It looked really luxurious and more importantly smelt amazing. Like a flowery smell but with a modern twist. The smell was very similar to the S&G body products, therefore was quite strong so you really do have to like the smell to enjoy using this.
I applied the conditioner just to the ends of my hair as this is where my hair is driest and most in need of a treat. Also I don't like applying it too close to the roots in case if gets greasy looking. I left it on for around 3 minutes in the shower before rinsing it off, making sure I rinsed it out really well. My hair felt quite smooth but no better than when I have used an ordinary conditioner.
Around 5 mins later I towel dried my hair and tried giving it a brush through before letting it dry. Usually when I have used deep conditioners brushing my hair is easier than ever as it tends to smooth out knots, however on this occasion my hair felt really tangled and was difficult to brush, possibly more difficult than when I have just used ordinary conditioner! This really surprised me as the conditioner had felt really moisturising in my hands and I left it on for long enough, but clearly it hadn't penetrated my hair at all.
Once dry my hair just felt normal, it wasn't feeling weighed down which was a relief but at the same time it didn't feel moisturised either, nor did it look any more shiny or healthy. To make matters worse the lovely smell hadn't held in my hair at all and was a distant memory!
I thought I'd try this again to give it another chance and had the same results so I've given up with it now! It is the first and probably last S&G hair product I will use, as much as I love their body products I think it is better to stick to hair specific brands for hair products.
**Overall Opinion**
It wasn't what this conditioner did that was wrong, but more what it didn't do! My hair didn't feel any different after using it, nor did it smell any nicer. The only positive I can think of is the lovely smell whilst using, but this definitely doesn't make it worth it. For these reasons I'm giving the product 1 star and wouldn't recommend it.
