Stargazer Hair Dye
Advantages: bright colour hard to find anywhere else
Disadvantages: not conditioning, not very long lasting
There are quite a few negative reviews for stargazer hair dye and I can sort of see why, but I don't think it's deserving of one star. It's not as high quality as other hair dyes I have bought from the pharmacy but then again it's not exactly the same colour that I would buy from the pharmacy - there's not a huge market for these colours and this is reflected in the quality. But I was actually surprisingly impressed by the tropical green semi-permanent dye. In my past experience semi-permanent actually means 3 - 4 washes, with colour fading from the first wash and I wasn't expecting much more from this. I had bleached blonde hair (that was more ginger than blonde) and the colour was a beautiful vibrant green - not like radioactive green - but like the description a tropical green. They colour would not be bright on brown hair - a pre-lightener would definitely be needed.
The colour stayed well for two washes and then started getting streaks of yellow where the blonde was coming through. After a week of washing my hair every day it had faded a lot and left a rather unpleasant blonde/green combination so I decided to dye over the top. For a short term blast of colour I loved it and have never seen the same colour by any other brand.
Another thing to point out about stargazer dye does not come with that awesome conditioner you get with most high street dyes.
Summary: for semi-permanent bright dye this worked well and met my expectations
