“ Brand: Sunsilk / Type: Hair Cream „
I have been clearing out a storage chest we have in our bathroom and I have discovered several unopened bottles of shampoo which I didn't know I had so I am slowly working my way through them. This is one that I have used previously and have now used for the last couple of weeks.
I am not sure why I purchased this as I normally buy hair products which are aimed at giving soft, frizz free locks so I can only this that there must have been a good offer on at the time.
The shampoo comes in brown bottle and which has a flip top lid which is stands on, I prefer shampoo which stand on their lids as it means as I am getting towards the end of the bottle, I don't have to stand in the shower shaking the bottle to get the last bits out.
The shampoo is a nice warm brown colour and has a metallic hint to it, the consistency is really nice and I would say that the shampoo has quite a luxurious feel to it. Upon dispensing into my hand, the lovely smell of the shampoo is evident. My daughter used this for the first time the other day (I wouldn't normally use my shampoo on my 5 year old but my other half just picks the first shampoo of the shelf and doesn't really look at what he is using on her) and as soon as she cam e to see me she commented that 'mummy's new shampoo smells like cake'. Although I wouldn't say its definitely a cake fragrance, it does have quite a sweet, chocolaty fragrance to it which I really like. The fragrance stays in my hair for a long time and although not as strong, by the end of the day, my hair still smells lovely.
I have shoulder length hair, so I tend to use about a 50 pence piece sized amount of shampoo on most brands, I found that the shampoo lathers up really nicely. When it came to rinsing, the residue was washed away really easily and it didn't leave my hair feeling sticky, in fact quite the opposite; my hair felt quite soft and smooth, as if I had already used the conditioner.
When it comes to using a shampoo, I always use the conditioner from the same range as like the manufacturers say, I do find that these delivery the best results and this range in no exception.
After I have dried and straightened my hair, I could immediately tell a difference and my hair did look in better condition, hence making the brown colour look richer and glossier.
From looking around, it looks like the shampoo retailed for around £2 which I think is quite a good buy, however having just looked online, it looks like it is no longer available from shops in the UK. It is however available on EBay, currently 2 bottles of shampoo and 2 bottles of conditioner is retailing in excess of £25!
Overall, I would recommend this as a shampoo, my hair does feel lovely and soft after using, and it does have a nice shine to it therefore I would give 5 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
I have been through several hair colours (despite being a natural brunette) because i was conscious of having boring hair that didn't have the 'wow' factor.
When i eventually dyed my hair back to my natural colour, i discovered Sunsilk multi tones enhancing cream and began to use that, and i was sceptical of what it can do for me. Genuinely, within a week i was being complimented on how healthy my hair looked and how nice my colour was. It picks up on your natural brown tones and highlights them, so that your hair isn't a dull brown but with several low and highlights. This is instead of having to use hair dye which really damages your hair.
Unlike many products i have tried to improve my hair - this actually works! Sunsilk is now my favourite product, as it leaves my hair soft and shiny too, i would suggest using with the shampoo and conditioner from the simply brunette selection.
So if your feeling like your hair is dull and brown, this product is certainly worth a try as it brings your hair to life and i guarantee you will be happier with your natural hair with the use of the enhancing cream.
I have just recently had my hair colour changed and I had always wanted a bit of a warmer brown as my dark brown hair was looking a bit dull and I wanted to brighten it up. I went for a sort of auburn colour which is really nice but the thing is I was using a copper enhancement shampoo beforehand which would make my hair ginger so instead of using that I had to find an alternative. Looking around there were so many offers on, Pantene had a Brunette Enhancing shampoo but their products have never done my hair justice and looking at John Frieda Brilliant Brunette it was too pricey. Sunsilk was only £1 for the shampoo and I had always wanted to try theirs so I bought that.
Sunsilk I remember has only been around for a short while unlike the other longstanding brands out there. I was not put off by this though as I had heard good things about their products and had to find out for myself if this was true or false. This shampoo asks if I want richer more glossy brown hair, it is designed to show up the shimmering multi-tones of brown hair. It is enriched with natural chestnut extract and livens up the brunette layers for radiance. It is also suitable for all brown hair natural, dyed, highlighted and doesnt add or take away the colour.
The packaging of this product is very nice; it is in a chestnut metallic coloured almost triangular tube. On the front it has the white Sunsilk text logo. It then has a dark brown horizontal bar coming across saying Shampoo. There is a picture of a ladys head with brown hair and it says under that chestnut natural extract. In this tube you get 200mls of shampoo which I have only bought a month ago and still find I have some left but it all depends on if you wash your hair daily, how much shampoo you use etc.
So to put it to the test, well I am using this without the conditioner but it still will give similar results. So I took out some shampoo not much and then started to lather it in, the first time it didnt really lather up very well but second wash it did. The shampoo is also a brown metallic liquid it looks very nice and you hope that it will definitely make a difference. It smells really nice too, Id say it had quite a spicy smell almost of cinnamon really thats what stands out most to me but it isnt a bad smell I really like it a lot. The shampoo rinsed out easily enough and now for the test of blow drying my hair.
I got out the hair drier and began to blow dry it as usual, once my hair was all dry I really did notice a difference my hair was looking a lot shinier and also the brown was looking a lot brighter than it had done before but in a really good way. It made my hair lighter and a very rich brown which I had wanted so the product in my opinion was a success and I was very happy with the results. My friend who is a blonde tried the same product but for blonde hair and I noticed her hair really brightened up too and everyone kept going to her have you had your hair lightened as it looks really blonde today so that shows these products really do work.
After straightening my hair looked much better and I felt better about myself with my hair looking as nice as this. As said previously not only the colour enhanced but so did the general state of my hair it was much shinier and healthier looking. On the back of the packaging all of the ingredients are listed so that you can see what is put into this shampoo.
The Sunsilk range doesnt only consist of the Deeply Brunette Shampoo there is also the Conditioner and Enhancing Cream but it really all depends on how strong you want your brunette enhancing results, I am happy with the Shampoo and sometimes conditioner. They also do a Passionately Red range for all you redheads and for blondes they do the Lively Blonde range so most are thought about. If you want further information on them go to http://www.sunsilk.co.uk and you can get more product information and styling advice.
The Sunsilk Deeply Brunette Shampoo did only cost me a pound at the time but this was on special offer but unfortunately this offer ran out. By looking on the Boots website I can say that the Shampoo costs £1.99 in shops which isnt too big a raise from the offer I got, Id still say it was very cheap compared to some. The conditioner also costs this price as does the Enhancing Cream.
I would recommend this shampoo to all of those Brunettes who want a bit of an enhancement without it being too extreme as thankfully it adds no colour. It just makes the brown richer and look more healthier.
